Tacos Victoria — Restaurant in Jersey City

I really enjoyed the food here! For the quality and quantity for its price, you really can't beat it. I think I may have found my New Mexican joint in the JC area. I was a bit skeptical at first since they have such a large menu (usually not a good sign) but I was very pleasantly surprised. We ordered via DoorDash on Cinco de Mayo since it's the law to eat Mexican food on that day. We placed the order at around 5:30 and the quoted time was an hour but it didn't actually get here until 7:30. So that was a little annoying but I also wasn't that mad because everybody is probably trying to order some tacos that day. Here is everything we ordered:

Fried Pork Burrito - this was only okay. When it said fried pork, I was thinking fried pork chunks but it was more like pulled pork, which I don't love

Beef Tongue Torta (Portuguese bread with refried beans, mayonnaise, jalapenos, lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, and avocado - served with your choice of chips, salad, or french fries) - this was by far both mine and my husband's favorite. They don't skimp on the lengua here and I liked the kick that the pickled jalapenos gave it. I of course opted for the french fries, which reminded me of McDonald's fries

Al Pastor Quesadilla - this was another banger. You can't really go wrong with a quesadilla. Meat + cheese + carbs? What's not to love? Plus we had some leftover for lunch the next day

Next time, I won't be ordering for delivery on Cinco de Mayo. It will be a lot sooner than that and I might try a pick-up order instead. Definitely want to try some of their other tortas and some of their tacos - which are...

I don’t know how they have less than 4.7 stars, but I guess people can give their ex a second chance and not small businesses. 🤣

Anyway, I’ve ordered here via UberEats 5 times now & the food and order is always perfect. I’m not one to order the same thing over and over again and especially not from the same place, but I have consecutively ordered the chicken burrito because it’s just amazing and sends me to heaven (euphemism for what I actually wanted to say lmao). Get the chicken burrito if you have complaints about anything else. For the price, portion & quality, if you still have a complaint, then it’s just a personal problem at that point. Granted, I’ve never been into this restaurant physically, but idk for the food quality I have experienced, not sure I’d care as long as it’s clean lol

The horchata, mango smoothie & mixed Berry smoothie are amazing as well.

Alsoooo, I do pay for the extra avocado and it really hits the spot! I’m unashamed. Lol

This will be my last time ordering from this place! I placed an order for chicken sopes. I get home and there isn’t any chicken on my sopes! It’s now after 10pm but I call anyway just to speak to someone. At first a lady picks up and she wasn’t understanding anything I was saying so she hangs up on me! I call back a guy picks up and I explain the situation. He goes on to tell me how there’s nothing he can do because now their restaurant is closed and he can’t give me a refund. However, what he can do is give me an order of anything else I want and I wouldn’t be charged. I go in the next day to get the same order replaced and rather than them being free of charge they tried to charge me again! So I explain what I was told and who I spoke to regarding my order and I get an attitude. They still wanted to charge me!
