Monarch Jewels — Attraction in Juneau

I can not begin to tell you how much I Love Monarch Jewelry!!! We fell I'm Love at Skagway Alaska so much that we had to stop back in when we arrived to Juneau Alaska!!! I'm So Very had we did!!! While in Juneau for the day we went into Monarch Jewels in Juneau to look at the Rainbow Topaz. I already knew that the appearance of the stone is achieved by a man made process. The salesman tried to tell me it is not. In any case I chose a pendant that I liked and was shocked at the sticker price, inflated to approximately 50 times its value. He immediately brought out the calculator and revealed a slightly better price which I knew was a complete sales tactic. I should have left the store but was taught to be polite. After another 30min or so of extremely pushy, obnoxious and bullying sales attempts I ended up with earrings and a necklace. He tried to get me to try on a diamond necklace that I HAD NO INTENTION OF LOOKING AT, NOR BUYING. Cue....walk away. My elderly mother was sucked in at this point and I could not get her away. She got her earrings for $30. AFTER I HAD PAID 20 times that much!!! I immediately had buyers remorse and realized I had been duped. I see on the receipt there are no returns. unbelievable. I want to start off by saying that the staff and the owners were very nice, accommodating and knowledgeable. Where it went sideways for us was the aggressiveness of the salesperson and the owner to get us to walk away with a piece. There was a lot to see at this store but we barely could get a word in or a chance to look without having items placed in our hands and in front of us. Overload is putting it mildly.

This style of sales tactic might work on others but coming from a someone who owns and operates a business I make tactical purchases and I like to take time to think about what I spend thounsands on.
