Roots & Branches Salon River Market — Attraction in Kansas City

I've been here three times in the last year, and had three different stylists each time. Molly (the owner), Meghan, and Kayla have each worked on my hair to different extents, and I've been very happy each time. I always come in with multiple pictures and a general idea of what I want, but struggle to fully communicate what I'm looking for, and each has been very patient with me and are able to help me achieve the goals I have for my hair and help undo lots of the abuse it gets from me between appointments. The aesthetics of the salon and river market are gorgeous, and they even provide snacks or beverages as a part of their service.

I'm surprised to see a few one star reviews lately, all about the same time frame. Makes me wonder if maybe one girl was offended and asked her friends to review bomb. 😅🤷‍♀️

Regardless, in my experience, Roots and Branches is full of beautiful humans in a beautiful location. I'm very happy to have found this salon, and plan on continuing to come back in...

I had my first visit there with Trilby today after she was highly recommended. I’ve had really bad luck since I moved to KCMO from Miami, Fl back in 2018 finding a good hair salon. The place is really nice and close to Rivermarket. I parked at the Arabian Steamboat Museum parking lot across the salon.

Once I arrived she came out and introduced herself, she was super understanding of what I wanted and knowledgeable of what options I had, to look my best .. I listened to her advice and I have to say, I absolutely love my hair. I got lots of compliments at my dance class after my appointment with her. We had a very long conversation since I was there for about 3 hours. She did a balayage , haircut and my eyebrows .. needless to say, I set up my follow up appointment before I left.. She is AMAZING .. thank you so much for today Trilby. I feel so confident with my new hair .. LOVE IT, LOVE IT,...

I debated posting this review because I never post bad reviews about salons but if it can help someone…. I went to get my hair glossed and cut a week before my wedding because of all the great reviews this salon has. Rachel was nice but does not know how to cut thick wavy hair. I asked for a simple long bob with a couple layers. When I left the salon my hair was a frizzy mess and I could not tell how bad the cut was until I went home and washed and restyled it. It was there I noticed just how uneven and lopsided my hair was. There were way too many layers and when she “thinned” my hair it ended up looking like thin dead ends on the bottom. I also debated going back to have it fixed but the only way to fix the thin ends would have been to cut it way shorter than I wanted. I would recommend making sure you go to a stylist that has experience with all types of hair. Attached is what I asked for...
