It's been 3.5 years since this ABC store has opened and I really want to like this store. I have had great experiences every time I go in to an other ABC Store EXCEPT THIS ONE! On our most recent trip in here, we came in to order lunch at the deli counter as many who live here do. I had ordered the Kalua Pork Loco Moco, my wife the Chicken Katsu Moco. My wife had asked for eggs to be over medium. After getting the receipt from the deli, you have to walk across the store to pay. That's when I noticed on the receipt that it said "over easy". After waiting 10-15 minutes to get someones attention at the deli, the lady working there told her that it was already made and they cant't remake the eggs. So we went across the store to pay. We explained what happened to the cashier and she said, she would have them remake the eggs. After she came back, we paid, bought a couple more small items, and went to grab our food, since according to the lady at the deli it was already done. Well come to find out that the food wasn't done yet, so the lady taking the orders at the deli lied. I'm guessing so that she didn't have to call a manager over to over ride the order. We waited another ~10 mins or so for our name to be called and everything was correctly made. This has been an ongoing thing since this store opened in 2018. You would think that there would have been improvements with the ordering process and something as simple as a number system. But they have one person that calls your name 1 time. It just ends up being frustrating experience anytime you end up ordering from the deli counter. I also would like to point out that looking at the menu online, there seems to be an Island Deli rewards program where you buy 10 meals and get 1 free. We have never once been offered this or asked if we would like to participate. Basically, I think the majority of these issues point to upper management but that requires management to acknowledge that there are issues and be willing...
Read moreGo to a mom and pop shop on the island for food that deserves your business. This place very obviously only cares about making money, as they demonstrated by charging me to fix their mistake! My boyfriend and I both ordered food at the deli, got our food, realized the person taking our order had misheard me when I looked at my burger. So I go back assuming they’d apologize and right their mistake, yeah? WRONG! I went back, talked to one of the cooks who was very nice, handed her my receipt and she mentioned the person who took our order had written down the wrong thing. She said the burger I wanted was a bit more money, and she asked the cashier to help us. The cashier calls her service manager to rectify the problem. The service manager says nothing to us, asks us to pay the difference for THEIR mistake, does not apologize for the inconvenience, and walks away. So they seem very willing to trade less than $2 for their customers satisfaction if that’s the kind of business you...
Read moreThis Teapresso has one of the best Jasmine milk tea I’ve ever had. And I’ve had milk teas all over the US. We have been to at least 3 other places on Kauai and this is hands down the best on this island. The boba isn’t sweetened, but they are the absolute perfect consistency. The teas are also not overly sweet. 75% is perfect for those that don’t like super sweet things. The only downfall is the speed at which it takes for the staff to get that delicious drink into your hands. I want to say it took at least 20+ minutes for them to make our 2 drinks. Is it worth the wait?….yes. Is it worth it if the line is long?….maybe not. The market also has a section of prepared foods. Which is just alright. Their musubi is not worth the money. You’re better off getting it at a local market. Come for the boba and the small knick knacks. Or just come...
