My recent visit to Southern Roots Brewing Co. in Killeen was truly exceptional. From the moment I walked in, I was struck by the welcoming atmosphere created by the friendly and attentive staff. Their service was outstanding, always prompt and cheerful, adding to the overall enjoyable experience.

Beyond the excellent service, the quality of the food and beverages was remarkable. The craft beers offered a diverse and intriguing selection, showcasing a range of styles and flavors expertly brewed. I particularly enjoyed IPA chilly bin and hawksbill hazy, its unique profile standing out amongst the already impressive lineup.

The pizza surpassed my expectations. The crust possessed a delightful crispiness, while the toppings were fresh and generously applied. Was excited to try a new place but really let down. We had to wait 35-40 minutes from ordering to be told that it would be another 10 minutes to get our food and waited still no food. A two top table came in after as well as a six top both of them were served at least 15 to 20 minutes after being seated I asked the lady behind the bar what the holdup was with our food she said that the paper had ran out on the printer in the back and it would be out shortly that my ticket had basically got lost. Another 15 minutes later still no food. In total I have waited over an hour and 20 minutes to get just the first two pieces of our order after I asked to cancel the order out. Still over an hour and a half later and still have not gotten my pizza honestly can't recommend this place from first impressions but I doubt I will ever be coming back

Came in early evening on a Saturday. We immediately liked the view into the brewery area, but there were some cardboard boxes that made it look a little cluttered- but that isn’t a big deal in the grand scheme of things. The restaurant area was clean and felt spacious. There was some confusion about where to sit and how to order. We weren’t greeted as we came in, and there was a large group standing in the center at the long bar being jovial and loud.

Once someone noticed us sitting, we were greeted warmly and told that you order at the counter. We selected the Georgia Guidestone and the Pig and the Preacher. Both were sent out quickly and tasted great.

This is the type of place that can rejuvenate the downtown area, and I hope it sparks more entrepreneurs and business owners to step up their game and make this area what it deserves to...
