Coast Hardware — Attraction in Laguna Beach

Ive lived in laguna for just under two weeks having been displaced from Pacific Palisades because of the fires.

I went to Coast Hardware yesterday and bought a copy of our mail key. Not expensive but i am just getting settled here and supporting local businesses is very important to me.

My wife and i came in to buy a cool little toy for our three year old who is potty training this weekend. The little vw van toy was about 10 bucks.

At checkout i asked if it was ok to park in back in one of thier many spots. The young woman asked her manager to come out and speak with me and she was clear... i could park shile dhopping and not a minute longer. Wanna grab a coffee? Pay 15 bucks to park or move and hunt one down which is hard.

I asked "really?" And yhe retorted... are you looking for sn argument. Nope. I just walked out. They knew were were from pacific pslisdaes from my Ace loyalty account and they still couldnt be nice. Thats sad and unfortunate

I got anither street spot and left 20 min later.

It sucks to be punished for wanting to support local businesses. Shame on you...

Best hardware store I’ve been to in years.

It’s a little like Doctor Who’s police box, it seems much bigger on the inside and definitely holds more than you think it could.

There are staff who are very knowledgeable and will make sure you get the right thing/part for the job.

It is the opposite of the “big box” stores which have huge aisles and square footage and yet often don’t seem to have what you need in stock.

Here, despite the much smaller size, I have always found the odd light bulb, bit of plumbing, etc. that I needed with the help of the staff.

Do yourself a favor, next time unless you need lumber or something try this store first before driving out to a big box chain store. You will probably be glad you did.

The only downside is that parking is somewhat limited, but know that there are 4 or 5 additional store parking spots...

I had throat cancer and need to use a computer to speak. I called the store to ask if they had an item in stock. The woman who answered the phone hung up on me when i asked my question. I called back and introduced myself stating i use a computer to speak and she hung up on me again. I understand using an artificial voice can make it sound like a robo-call, but my calls were clearly not a solicitation. Over many years, i have never had this kind of response from a company or store i...
