Husband and I were on a mission to find a perfect wedding ring after 23 years of marriage. My original set was plain worn out. We looked too much and I was actually tired of looking! Diamond quality was what we both wanted. We ended up driving to Laguna Beach one fall day in 2000 just to get away. NO intention of looking for rings. And then we walked by Rock Martin Jewelry. The absolute perfect ring was in the window! Rock himself was working and with some changes, he decided to make an entirely new ring. His daughter Heather brought Marquis diamonds in for us to look at. Please note: I did NOT want a marquise and I did NOT want princess cut diamonds! I ended up the most gorgeous ring on the planet with a huge 1.23 carat marquis and 18 princess cut diamonds. Perfect table on the big diamond and only 1 tiny inclusion that is hidden by the prongs. The store is now run by Michael McFadden who is married to Heather Martin. We go in every year for Michael and "Fred" to check out the prongs and make sure it's polished perfectly.
