This path is against federal laws according to the American disabilities act and accommodations for disabled Americans that there is no variance for the pathway for disabled people using the path. There are many that houses use Flagstone and have some stairs and is almost impossible! At many points it took a friend to lift the walker over the stairs and jagged flagstone or other areas impossible for disabled people to traverse while having to wait for friend to return to hold onto him ( he is not the disabled person in the photos. FYI,) The mayors and the city councils whoever oversees this should be on top of this right away. It is dangerous and doesn’t allow them to safely navigate without the proper width and the angle to be flat And proper dirt or small gravel or grass at a level surface with the proper Handicap appropriate legal width. Take a look at just a few of the embarrassing house paths ( many more !!)where disabled people would have a very problematic time navigating and dangerous time! I demand that the mayor And council people and anyone else in charge of this path reply. Take note of the photo of the one house that spends thousands of dollars on a pathway from their house to the dock and not a dime on the shore path , which is another jagged dangerous Flagstone path which is uneven and impossible for a walker or a wheelchair to go over! everyone in their lifetime will either be caretaken or be a caretaker so come on Lake Geneva let’s do something that is legally correct that all these houses have to change in the name of peoples legal rights!I demand...
Read moreDrove up from Chicago for a little day trip in Lake Geneva. It is a cute seasonal town, but like most seasonal towns, doesn’t have a lot to do in off-season. We mainly came up to walk the lakeshore path. There are quite a few entry points, some with parking and some with parking about 1/2 mile away to access point. Trail is not accessible for all, it is narrow at most points with uneven ground mainly due to the type of stones or pathway the owners want. It varies from dirt, rocks, flag stone, cement, synthetic wood, etc. you do need to plan as you can’t simply exit wherever you want. One major negative to walking this in the off season is that almost all the owners have their docks and boat lifts scattered all along the path. It’s a major major eye sore. Very disappointing. We noticed the north side had them way closer to the trail and many more of them. South side has more space and most were somewhat out of eye sight and way.
They really do interfere with you attempt at a pleasant walk. And during peak season I imagine the trial is packed and that would also make for an...

Walking the Lake Geneva Shore Path was one of the most peaceful and inspiring experiences I've had. The trail wraps around the lake and gives you an up-close view of beautiful historic estates, charming gardens, and the crystal-clear water of Lake Geneva.
Each section of the path has its own personality, from wooded stretches to lakefront mansions, and it’s amazing how every homeowner maintains their portion of the trail uniquely. There’s a real sense of history here—you can almost feel the stories behind each estate as you pass by.
It’s a long walk if you want to do the full loop (over 20 miles!), but even walking a portion is well worth it. Wear comfortable shoes and bring water—there are a few uneven spots, but nothing too difficult.
Highly recommend this for nature lovers, history buffs, and anyone looking for a relaxing, picturesque...
