Inspired — Restaurant in Lake Geneva

Went yesterday and met gf which we do weekly. First customer of the day. Tried to pay with my debit card, the machine was “not working” after I used my card, so I paid cash. Then got a notification on my watch that in fact it was used. So I went online and there it was pending. Showed the “manager lady” and she argued with me that I was not charged double, when in fact I was. She told me the amount was incorrect but she didn’t factor in the tip that was pending on it as well. After arguing with me, I told her that I was a regular, the 6.0 I could really care less about but the fact that she did not believe me when I held the proof in my hands. I told her I would not be back. So you have lost a regular. There’s plenty of other coffee shops in town. Customer service is key, customer no service is a no no. Overall, this is a clean, cute cafe with friendly service. I tried a hot lavender soy milk matcha latte and later an iced honeycomb toffee soy milk latte, and they were both delicious, especially the matcha. I am glad they offer plant-based milks and I also saw vegan sausage patties on the menu. I have two suggestions for Inspired, one of which would've earned them 5/5 stars from me.

1. Please consider adding Just Egg to the menu to round out your food offerings for those who don't eat chicken eggs.
2. More importantly, please drop your plant milk surcharge of 95 cents. Folks who are lactose-intolerant or avoid cow's milk for environmental or ethical concerns shouldn't need to pay more. Timing is everything and I had the good fortune to be in Lake Geneva today and on the sidewalk when samples of ice tea were being offered from Inspire..... the hibiscus tea was SO flavorful! After we went on the boat tour we came back to the coffee shop :) I saw some fun choices and decided on the watermelon cucumber refresher - YUM!!!!! My bf ordered the delicious caramel frappe.... While we were there enjoying the VERY friendly staff (thank you Kaleigh, Drew, and Jessie!!!!) and talking about their delicious beverages and sharing ideas ~ Kaleigh poured a taste of the nitro cold brew with cream .... thus giving us a lovely trio of drinks..... This will be on the list each time we come to Lake Geneva and I intend to visit more often to support this wonderful shop. What a great place - with great people - doing GREAT...
