Hi there. I'd like to bring my experience to your attention. My friend & I were in Lake Geneva, WI on Sunday, April 16th. We were hungry so we picked Egg Harbor for lunch. Not realizing or knowing their close time is 2pm we entered the establishment around 1:50 or 1:55pm. We got seated. Our server, Molly M, came over and asked us what we would like to drink and while she looked at her watch made a comment such as "wow you made it just in time, it's 2pm". We didn't understand what that meant. We had no idea. Once she walked away my friend and I looked at each other and said "what does that mean" and "why did she do that". We then noticed on the menu or looked it up on our phone that they close at 2pm. Please note there were at least 5 other tables there, eating or waiting for their check. We felt rushed the whole time we were there. Servers vacuumed around us during our meal and our server even came to our table as we were eating and reached over to the salt/pepper/condiment tray and excused her herself for grabbing it, letting us know she had to fill it up. Again, feeling rushed and not welcomed at all. The food was decent (mine was good, my friends meal was dripping in sour cream). I'm sorry but if you close at 2pm then servers should know someone could walk in and still get served which means you'd be there until at least 3pm. We were treated horrible and I wish we never would have went there now. I suggest if servers there are in a rush to leave right at 2pm, restaurant should not let customers in the door after 12:30 or 1pm! Moral of the review if it's past 1pm at the Lake Geneva location DO NOT GO IN! Go somewhere else so you can enjoy your meal and not be rushed out! To be honest, I expected more from...
Read moreWent here for brunch with my bestie/roommate and my grandma. It was my first time in Lake Geneva, so I was ready to make the most of it. Diagonal street parking for $2/hour which wasn't too bad for us since we were only there 3 hours. Egg Harbor Café must be POPULAR because we went on a Monday morning at 9:30 and it was packed and noisy which bothered me at first, but you get used to it. I just prefer a more intimate setting in which you can talk quietly and still be heard by the other people at your table. We had a corner table. Our server was just the right amount of inquisitive, I personally don't like when servers are coming by every 5 minutes asking if we need anything or how we're doing and half the time I'm in mid-bite, but I understand they're doing their jobs. The server we had came by a few times while we were there, and she treated my grandma (who needs a walker to get around and moves slowly) with great respect and care. I ordered the shakshuka because I wanted to try something new and was not disappointed. You pay up at the register after your meal, the server joked with us that she's not allowed to play with money when my grandma asked. Overall wonderful experience, but would have preferred something less crowded on the outskirts of Lake Geneva (although crowded usually means great business and...
Read moreThis place is very cute and welcoming. My husband and I stopped as our last meal heading back home from vacation. The server was prompt, but not super friendly. I ordered a skillet which was very good and my husband ordered the salmon eggs benedict. The person who brought us our food was not our waitress. As soon as she set it down we could tell the whites of the eggs were runny and undercooked. 🤢 we flagged our waitress down and told her that the whites were runny and that's not proper eggs benedict. She agreed and sent it back to the kitchen. She then came back and asked if he would like them soft, medium or hard. My husband said I just don't want runny whites. I finished my meal and his finally came. The eggs were hard as a rock. That's one extreme to the other. My husband tried to eat it without the eggs but was very disappointed. Another woman cleared our plates and no one made sure the second meal was right. I've worked in the resturant industry most of my life. Your waitress should be the one brining your food and clearing your table to ensure the meal is cooked properly. There seems to be disfunction and an inability to cook eggs. I'm glad I ordered mine over medium, considering they came out over easy. Most likely won't return. We still got charged for a $20 meal and my husband...
