Looks like I am one of the few to have been there for lash extensions. Given the reviews, I felt "safe" enough to try MI. I did go with full knowledge that the service was not going to be anywhere close to the salons where I usually go, but it was even worse. I had called for information and the girl on the phone said MI does offer "cluster/fan lashes" and that i just had to inform the technician about it. I had booked online with someone from the list for $60. I got there and after waiting 45 minutes and emptying my schedule for 4 hours, I am told that the girl I booked with had "left early" and that I was getting someone else. No one bothered to inform me that this "someone else" had a very different level (in fact she had just started, according to her) which is probably why she wasn't even on the list online. It is not like the service cost $20. When you want to charge almost $50 with a newbie, at least don't offer mediocre service. Also, you don't let people come in for such a lengthy appointment when you want to make changes to the appointment; you make sure to avoid making them wait THAT long; and finally, you educate your receptionists about the services or ask them not to mislead the customers. All very disappointing. I only found out i got a very junior tech when I was charged less than the $60. Although the girl had a great bedside manner for a newbie, this was not what I signed up for. The result was: NO DIFFERENCE. 4 hours in total spent to get NOTHING. The lashes are so thin they are not visible in the least. They don't even seem to be black. You spend hours there to get a total of 6 lashes on each eye. Even though I was told they use black glue, the glue was white and all over my own lashes. Some lashes were applied upside down and getting into my eyes. Some were glued to my skin. I have to use lash strips by the time I can get to a salon. The teacher came to get paid and the funny thing is that she didn't bother to check the work that HER student was doing. My gosh i have been to schools before in different states and I never had a student not being watched by the teacher every now and then. $50 & 4 hours dumped. I am sorry, that is dishonest. I wanted to get my sewn in hair extensions tightened but based on the first experience, there is no way I...
Read moreIf you are looking into cosmetology school here are a few things to consider before joining: The classes are generally smaller therefore you have more space and time for one on one training. Thatâs why I decided to choose this school, however, Iâm six months in and I notice that some teachers are hands on and some arenât. The experience youâre going to get heavily relies on your teacher â some teachers have a more laidback approach which isnât ideal at times when it comes to beauty school because you need that anchor of support to understand what youâre doing and how to handle certain chemicals & clients for the real world. Another thing I noticed is that the tuition wasnât necessarily cheap but it wasnât bad either. When I first joined, some of the people in my class were missing items from their kits that they paid the school for. They eventually did get the missing items that they needed to proceed with the program weeks later, but overall our experience there was quite bumpy initially. We have a clock-in clock-out app to track hours and the system is unreliable. Students that are near graduation even still have problems consistently. Some people even couldnât access their student portal to complete assignments so they were behind on homework for the first few weeks and cosmetology school in early phases is very reliant on textbooks so you have an essential rundown of the curriculum. One of the biggest things to note is communication. As with any school make sure to always ask questions regarding specific things, especially with this school, because some staff will tell you one thing and another group will tell you something completely different. Some days they will be okay with your attire and then another day theyâll decide itâs not school appropriate and send you home. Overall, Iâve had a ton of fun and meeting new people inside and outside of school is such a wonderful experience that will build connections and knowledge, but the school definitely needs work. Iâve heard instructors from Euphoria have moved over to this school to have more creative freedom, but Euphoria has a better...
Read moreDonât waste your time. I was scheduled, I arrived 15 minutes early before my service. I was told they probably wouldnât be time for my service Because they leave in 45 minutes and the service takes one hour. I was offered my time slot and arrived early. Conveniently, I was told that their machine was out of service. I asked them if they could remove that service as an offering when we tried to book until it was fixed. I was then told it is only down for today. With that said why would they not call me to inform me of this? They have my contact information. Conveniently told this 15 minutes after arrival. (Unfortunately, I overheard the conversation and they hadnât set up the machineâs âarmsâ up yet and that would take 15 minutes) Itâs OK to say you didnât want to do the service And that there is an error in the system and the booking process! I wouldâve been far more understanding of that. Itâs not OK to have no accountability. Especially since the conversation happened in the waiting room where I was and it is a school. Itâs extremely unlikely that I will return or give this business another chance, but Iâve had such positive experiences at other med spas and schools in the valley. I hope this becomes a learning experience and that those who come later have a more...
