Over a month ago as a recommendation from a barista at Goosecup I tried this bakery/sandwich shop. I had incredible service and a wonderful woman who may have been an owner treated me like a friend with her favorite suggestions. I went back today and experienced quite the opposite. Lots of staff but all these young people including the cashier were more annoyed than welcoming, using their phones at the front counter and scowling, even the young woman who handed me my order rolled her eyes when I said thank you. Too many others places to dine for me to return here but I agree the ciabatta bread on anything is amazing. Fresh baked bread and a nice variety of just about anything can be found here; outdoor mall setting the neighboring shops are equally special. I recommend the leek soup confidently. My BLT was not great…the bacon was grossly fatty instead of crispy and not...
Read moreI've had 2 sandwiches from this spot and both were fantastic! I've had the tuna sandwich (HOT) and the chicken ciapini and I recommend both, 100%. Both sammiches were stuffed with all the good things I expected so I did not feel shorted, whatsoever. The taste of both sandwiches was unique and you could really separate the flavor of each ingredient, that made each sandwich special. That goes a long way for me because it shows they care about the food making process and their ingredients are fresh. This is the perfect place for a quick to-go bite to eat or a sit down lunch/dinner if the weather is nice out. The feeling of the place is rustic and "homemade" if you will and I love that! Absolutely recommend you stop by this place if you are passing through, haven't tried it yet, or just can't decide. Unless something happens that changes my mind, I'll be going here often...
Read moreOne of my 2 favorite places in Leesburg (the other is Sidebar). South Street has an amazing atmosphere and feels very much like a small-town cafe. The staff are incredibly friendly, like they've known you for years. The only real downside to this place is that they close too early for dinner.
Lines usually move very quickly and service is pretty quick for takeout or dine-in. It seems most crowded right after church let's out on sundays. Indoor seating is limited, but on a nice day they have a lot of outdoor seating as well.
My favorites: -egg and cheese on hot pepper ciabatta for breakfast (before 11 am I think) -the chocolate eclair -the tuna sandwich (ask for it melted and on hot pepper ciabatta. Thank me later) -the meatloaf sandwich -always check the daily specials. They're usually very good. Especially the...
