So I go to Tory Burch to return a gift my sister gave me because the strap had recently broken. The bag was rarely used which you could clearly see because I’ve only worn the bag in my Military Uniform being that it was olive green. I was greeted upon entrance as I proceed to tell the first employee I see that I want to returned a gifted item and that I don’t have the receipt. She go tell another rep exactly what I tell her verbatim yet the Manager, I assume, walks over and says how can I help you. I stated that I was recently gifted a TB backpack and the strap popped, I’d like to exchange it for another if possible. The Manager looks at the bag, ask where is my receipt which I stated, I don’t have it, it was a gift, and tells me that, and I quote, “We don’t carry that bag” I’m like, yes you do. She asked where I purchased the bag, I said Tory Burch. She asked what location and I indicated that it was purchased at a TB located in FL. I’m up in DE doing a Military Training so I figured I’d bring that bag in because it’s a new bag. I indicated to her that I’ve seen this bag in multiple locations throughout the US because I travel a lot. She states, “this is not our bag.” At this point, I’m embarrassed and getting upset because she’s stating that TB don’t carry the bag as if Tory don’t make the bag at all. I stated, my sister purchased this for me as a gift and I’m simply asking to exchange it because I know the bag is expensive so it seems as though you’d be able to do something with YOUR bag. At that time, the entire store is looking because of how loud the sales representative is stating “well I can’t help you, this is not our bag” After a few verbal exchanges and after me calling my sister, another employee walks over and says we haven’t had that color in a while; maybe almost a year. So automatically I’m stating, “so you do carry this bag in this store when she just looked at this bag like she’d never saw it before?” She says yes, it’s right over there as she points to the same bag on the companies shelf in black. I’m amazed at this point! I state, “This lady JUST stated that you don’t carry the bag as if she’d never seen the bag before and as if the bag was a counterfeit and there the bag is!” She says yes, we just don’t carry the olive green here at this store, we have navy and black. I state, so can I exchange it, the Liar who stated they didn’t carry the bag response with “no, we don’t have the codes to scan it”.
I stated, you have to be able to do something being that it is a Tory bag! My sister is on the phone asking me why the lady was acting as if she couldn’t just ask for the purchasers name so she can look it up, So I ask the employee that same question and she’s like “what’s her name, I can look it up now” I’m in awe of this woman who could have simply asked that from the beginning!!! This lady had her mind set on NOT assisting me as soon as I came into the store because I walked in without the receipt and didn’t have it in a Tory bag bringing it back. Another lady came over and exchanged the bag with no issue after the Liar ask for my sisters name to look up my sisters shopping history which reflected that she purchased the bag from the store. She could have looked it up from the beginning instead of treating me as if I’d found a bag on the street and was returning it for money or something. As she looked up both my Mom and sisters history, she says “oh you all shop here a lot, you buy a lot of shoes!” As if she’s surprised that Frequent the store. I did the exchange with a different store representative & purchased 3 pairs of sandals from a different sales associate. But after yesterday’s treatment I’ll be reluctant to shop with your company if employees are not trained to respect and assist ALL consumers equally. I pay a lot of money for the style and quality of this brand however, customer service is a big part in being satisfied...
Read moreTB is honestly one of my favorite brands and I usually make my purchases from this store and online. But after what I encountered today, I must admit I was very upset to the point that I may not go back. I went into the store two weeks ago and I noticed I wasn’t asked to be helped- usually Mimi helps (and yes I do know her name bc she has helped me multiple times to make decisions) and she’s honestly very sweat and very helpful. But bc she wasn’t there and bc I must have not been dressed to their customer standards- I was not asked for help. The young lady at the register seem to be more helpful then the two older lady who were on the floor. I made my purchase and left. I came back today for their semi- annual sale and saw the same young lady at the register being verbally abuse by the same older lady who did not help me two weeks ago. This older lady who has very light blonde boy cut short hair with glasses who you see dress very nice and seems to be such an educated and respectful person was not even one inch of what I thought her image showed. She was very nasty to her- in front of other paying customers. She was mad about who helped the customer out and from what I understood- it went to the wrong helper- I’m guessing commission is an issue. But there are ways to talk to someone and not use such nasty words. I grabbed my mother and asked her to leave. I cannot believe this happen in such high end store. I will call tomorrow and hope that this young lady gets the respect that every human being deserves. I will not go back to this store unless they do something about it. Oh and if you take a momemnt to read the reviews- many ppl have complain about an older lady- I’m guessing it can be the same one. I hope they do care and take a momemnt to read the...
Read moreHorrible sales associates, I walked in with a brand new Louis Vuitton bag that’s out of stock all the time and no sales person approached me until 30 mins in I told the manager that their service was horrible bc no one had asked to assist me. As someone who has worked in sales, you would think that they would approach someone who has a Louis Vuitton in hopes of up selling them a bunch of products. As I was waiting for my sister to show up so I can purchase her a gift, I had a mini Tory Burch perfume and the manager proceeded to block the entrance thinking that I would steal the product which I ended up spending $300 on my sister gift. Anyhow, this wasn’t the first time here I had been here many times in the pastes 3 years or so and I have never encountered this experience before. I don’t know if it was discrimination bc I’m not Caucasian, I mean I am from the caucus mountain so I’m as Caucasian...
