Where do I begin?! First of all, the groupon was misleading. My friends and I believed we had already paid in full for the art piece we created. We found out after our pieces were placed in the kiln that we each owed an additional $25 for using a background color (we were never informed of this). The lady who worked there and helped us with our glass art was kind and helpful with a good sense of humor. Dan was also helpful, a little socially awkward, but knowledgeable. His partner, Maurice was rude, condescending, and had ZERO people skills!! He took a jar of glass pieces away from me as I was ready to look through them and then proceeded to sprinkle little glass pieces on my art without my permission. I was taken aback and quickly told him that I didn't like it and wanted him to remove it. He hesitated because he thought it looked good and when I told him my idea, he was very critical and seemed quite perturbed that I had added a flower that wasn't on the original print. Maurice scolded me, stating that he had tried to be nice to me since I came in. I then told him that he had not and he was super annoying. While I was there, another customer was having a rather unpleasant interaction with Maurice as well. I WILL NEVER RETURN TO MOR ART BECAUSE OF MAURICE!! He needs to find another line of work because he obviously doesn't like people, wants to control every aspect of their artistic experience, and make it a miserable memory for all. Also, I have never been around someone with such horrific breath. It made me sick to my stomach. I will make sure to tell all of my family and friends to steer clear of Mor Art!! Super sad because without Maurice there, it would've been a...
ย ย ย Read moreWhere to beginโฆ I am absolutely appalled at the disrespectful, condescending, and rude nature of the staff. The owner was incredibly frustrating and controlling. He wouldnโt let you pick out your own colors, glass, and they would reach over you to correct your art. There is no creative license and they control every step of the process. They degrade your art while simultaneously forcing you to change designs. The entire process was unpleasant, awkward and it ruined our day. He stood over us the entire time making comments and put his hand in our face if we tried to explain our thought process. If it was up to me I would have walked out without a second thought. This was hands down the most passive aggressive activity I have ever done. My entire family was just making eye contact with each other while trying to keep our mouths shut. It is certainly not worth the 70+ dollars per person for a decorative glass piece you probably wonโt end up liking. The glass blowing shop down the block called Lincoln city glass center, was an incredible experience, staff was friendly, helpful, and let you do whatever you want in terms of design, only taking over for technical aspects. AVOID the Mor art studio. It is an absolute nightmare with ridiculous behavior from all the staff. A complete waste of time and money on an otherwise pleasant vacation. If I could give it a 0 star review I would. Save yourself the frustration and...
ย ย ย Read moreTERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. My mother heard of this place by word of mouth and has visited this establishment 2-3 times and had a pleasant time.
In the past, my mom has taken a few hours to create something, either using the provided stencils or doing her own design without a stencil.
*If Maurice (the owner and main teacher) wants his customers to only spend one hour and only use the stencils, then that policy should be posted on his website, verbally expressed when you make your appointment or disclosed upon arrival to the class. He did none of these things! *
In no way did we deserve to be MOCKED, CHASTISED, and continually DISRESPECTED.
He does not maintain consistent rules or policies and will become argumentative when he finds an arbitrary reason to be annoyed with you. I regret not walking out. I thought, maybe he was having a bad day, and tried to give him the benefit of the doubt. But upon seeing all of these other reviews, I see that this is normal behavior for him.
I believe in supporting small business, but I do not support this kind of behavior. I am not easily offended, and I have never written a review before, but I have never been so upset and offended after leaving a craft class before. Art should be creative and fun. This was not.
Bad experience. Erratic, rude behavior by the owner. Y'all, it was rough.
0 stars. You've...
