We had a great time! Three adults and four children slept comfortably in a one bedroom suite with a pull out sofa bed and murphy bed. There's a table and chairs for four, and two small reclinders. The sofa was clean and comfy. The floors were clean, and a broom and dustpan were provided to keep sand at bay during your stay. The king bedroom had a TV and DVD player. The kitchen was spotless, and had everything we needed, including full sized fridge, microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker, pots and pans, dishes and utensils. As a family working around a food allergy, being able to cook for ourselves rather than have to hunt for an allergy- friendly restaurant was soooo nice! (Even without that factor, restaurants in tourist towns are notoriously pricey, so it's great for staying within our vacation budget!). The view from our ground floor unit was absolutely unbeatable. If we had been there without all the grandkids, we could have just sat and enjoyed the ocean, maybe read one of the several books provided. (Having a Bible there made my kids and I feel happy). ,🥰 The stairs to the beach are a bit of a long trek, but are solid and well lit with a small landing half way down to catch your breath, (or just enjoy the scene). The surf was a bit rough for little kids, so we kept them close and went to a different beach while we were out and about for them to be able to get their feet wet. It may have just been due to the timing of our trip in the spring or offshore weather, but it's worth knowing if you've got little ones along. (The beach next to Mo's restaurant just up the road is on a little inlet and is much more calm and kid friendly). The condos have a nice lawn the kids were able to run around on and picnic tables overlooking the ocean. In our bedroom closet there were four plastic lawn chairs to use. The bathroom was clean, well lit, and has a provided hair dryer. Their indoor pool was clean, and you need your key to get in, which is a nice safety feature for guests with children. Driving distance for a day trip to the Newport aquarium, Tillamook Cheese Factory and Tillamook Aviation Museum, and on a calm little street off of the main road to go for a walk if you'd like. Staff was kind and attentave. There are brochures in the main office of stuff to do and tide charts are provided in each room. We really enjoyed our stay and...
Read moreHello, Please let my wife and I tell you about our visit to your Oregon coast on Friday, March 1st, through Sunday, March 3rd. Our drive was uneventful, cloudy with little drizzle, and cool. Our ultimate goal was to get to our center of operations for the next few days, Ocean Terrance Condominiums. We booked in to unit #17. The unit was fresh, with an outstanding view of the weathered Pacific Ocean. We had 16 feet wide clear window view of the ocean and the wide life of the area. The room was comfortable and downright pleasant after the drive. This was not enough; we wanted to enjoy the comforts and blessings of being at the coast. After a few minutes with Daniel the receptionist/manager, we had our afternoon planned. Our first stop was dinner at Captain Rons Seafood & Chowder for his Captions Plate and a salad. This was magnificent, and all we could eat. We walked our meal off with a visit to some of the nearby markets, and some shopping, and then back to our room. As we came in by the office, we picked up some movies from their selection of over a hundred. Then we went back to our place to enjoy an evening of romance with my bride of 20-years, the sounds of the waves, the sea breeze, several movies and . . . The next morning we slept in for the first time in months, a quick breakfast in our own kitchen, and away we went for another day at the coast. This we ended with a fabulous buffet. The day was not over; we had another romantic night together with the soft music of the ocean to set the tone of the event to follow. The next morning we made mass at St. Augustine’s, and then a day at the Tanager Outlet Mall. This was topped with a meal at the sushi bar. This delightful weekend could not have occurred without the friendly and hospitable atmosphere of Ocean Terrace. I just want to say thank you Daniel, and the people of Ocean Terrace that served...
Read moreIt's difficult to review a condo because the units can be quite a bit different. I don't recommend room 101.
When you walk in the door, the bedroom is to the right, the bathroom is directly in front of you, and the front room is to the left. The room technically sleeps 6, but it would be a tight fit. The living room has a hide-a-bed and a murfey bed, but you have to move furniture to use either one. You would basically have to block the kitchen in order to pull both beds out at the same time. There is a table for 4, but there is only really space to use 3 chairs. The only issue with the bedroom is the dim lighting, but that isn't a big deal.
The view is not very good. There are things blocking it in every direction, like a tree directly in the middle and construction materials laying around. We stayed for 3 nights and the materials were never touched. You would be able to make it from the back door to the beach in seconds if the beach access wasn't closed off.
None of us had cell service in the unit. The WiFi was slow and the connection was sometimes iffy. We came during the off season, and I'm not sure how it may have effected the WiFi. A higher percentage of people could have been in their rooms connected, but there would be more people in the summer overall.
Sleeping was a bit difficult. The room had baseboard heating and we couldn't seem to find a way to keep the place a comfortable temperature. My biggest complaint is that something is wrong with the electrical. The stove only worked on high, and the light switch in the bathroom shocked me when I flipped it on the first night. Someone was doing something with an outlet when we first arrived, hopefully that won't be an ongoing problem. There are a...
