Great Clips — Attraction in Linden

This experience alone outweighs every good experience I've had at this place.

I usually come here ever since I moved to Jersey and the care I received is usually pretty good. Conversational stylists, take care of how I look, give me recommendations on my hair. I like how they store your hair cut in the system to make it easier in future visits.

However, my visit today was very unprofessional and unlike anything I've experienced here before. As soon as I walked in the door,, who was walking out to take out trash, sighed and said "I guess it's my turn." Already felt off from that alone. I take a seat and she asks what I want with my hair, I told her my regular.

She immediately grabs the trimmer and goes at my hair HARD. She comments how she hates it when customers come in right before they close (I came in at 5:45, they close at 7). Usually other stylists put up the top part for me so they can be careful on the back and sides, but not her. I told her about 3 inches off the top and, without measuring, combs up and cuts off about 4 inches. She asks how I usually style my hair and I say, "Middle part, swept back with some product." To which she responds, "If that's how you do it, I wouldn't do that with hair like yours." Okay? As she's hacking away at the top, I comment, "This is usually shorter than I get it," to which she responds, "It's fine. It's summer, it's hot."

She blows my hair with the hairdryer, but not at the end. She just rips the cover off me causing all the hair that was on my shoulders to just get all over my shirt and pants. She marches over to the register and says nothing.

The hair cut took not even 10 minutes and I was left a total wreck. After checking, her carelessness with the trimmer left bumps and burn all over the back of my neck. There was no layering, no blending done. Easily a job I could've done at home (which I don't because I trust my hair stylist to be careful).

I truly don't know what her deal was. The haircut took less than 10 minutes, I was being pushed and pulled while she worked with unnecessary careless comments during. If she was about to clock out before I walked in that's one thing. It's not like I came in 5 minutes before they closed! You have a job to do. If you don't have the time or thought to do it properly, let me know. I'd gladly sit and wait 15 minutes for another stylist.

I went to the salon 2 days before my wedding. I didn't wanna cut my whole hair just layer out my bang nicely since it overgrew. ( my line is on side not in the middle) I've explained that to my ,,hairstylist,, Erika. I showed her with my finger where I would like her to start cutting and from there to go nicely down. Now, she grabs the part of my hair which I want layered ( it was down my chin) and chop straight line. At this point my hair was by my cheek. A huge chunk of hair. After not even a minute she took the cape off and said you're done. I looked at her and said that this is a chopped chunk of hair not layered look I've wanted. She proceeded to argue with me and keep on insisting that it looks good with a bad bad attitude she was so rude. At the end she rudely said to me if you dont like it dont pay, she turned around and slammed the door while going somewhere in the back. The other lady working with her witness it all and said she'll try to fix it and apologized about my experience. While she was calming me down and trying to save my haircut , Erika came from back, started cleaning with broom so loud, banging on everything and throwing stuff around. This woman has no business cutting anyone's hair and her behavior was absolutely...

I've visited Great Clips many, many times in the past but after this last experience, I won't be returning. My daughter went in for a back-to-school haircut on Friday, August 31st. The stylist cut her hair WAY too short. But, my daughter liked it. I paid and we left. When we got home I noticed that her hair was crooked- One side of her hair was longer than the other. On Saturday I called to speak to a manager and was told that the manager would be in on Tuesday. Fine. I went in on Tuesday and requested that the manager fix her hair. She did, but when I I walked outside to leave I realized that one side was shorter, again!

Previous review: I had a great experience with the Great Clips in Aviation Plaza in Linden. I used the Great Clips "Check-in" App on my iPhone to check-in before I arrived. When I got there, they were ready for me within minutes. My stylist was Nelly (I think thats her name) and she did an amazing job! I brought in a picture of what I wanted and she helped to make it happen. Not the exact cute (because of my hair length and thickness) but very similar and I'm VERY happy! I'd definitely recommend her...
