This space started out like any other reclaimed building needed right away for events and art. What the Expo has done for Long Beach and Bixby Knolls has not only brought all outskirts to midtown but in my case got me out of my comfort zone. Allowing me to meet new people and find out more about my city. Atlantic Ave just past Wardlow is precious. The buildings , the little eateries , shops , the possibilities and the Expo. I've met many people at this creative space. Watching a huge space evolve and grow I think is gratifying not only to those who participate but to anyone who comes to enjoy whatever is happening there...
Read moreFirst time visit during 2024 Kwanzaa celebration. WOW! Who knew Long Beach had such an engaging dynamic art scene of Black artists! Painters, crafters, all had their works on display. Given the diversity of Long Beach there may also be displays of art from other Melanated people, and others, too. That night I was focused on the Black artists. Still, the variety of artists and art mediums was impressive. Once again, a treasure. A rare gem in Long Beach. It reminds me of the William Grant Still Arts Center in LA.
