Terrible customer service, employees are dishonest. They have a loophole in place that serves them in the event that they sell you something that doesn't work (which is often).
Returns are for another of the same thing or store credit. No refunds. Unhappy with what you bought, and the fact that they sold you something broken? Well too bad. You can exchange for another of the same thing, provided they have it, or get store credit, forcing you to further engage in business with them. For software? I get it. Everyone is like that (for logical reasons), but for hardware? Ridiculous.
Employees are rude morons who are slow, and will not acknowledge your presence. Stand at the counter and be ignored. Request an exchange and watch them try to avoid it and attempt to make a broken piece of equipment work. (Hilarious and infuriating as it takes forever and they are technically calling you a liar by engaging in this little sideshow in ineptitude. "Well maybe you connect it like this..." Nope.)
I for one will never shop here again. Bigger selections online from more reputable dealers and that includes classic games too. You can get games and systems in far better condition. Stores like GameXchange are an outdated relic, and not long for the modern world which presents more choices, better quality, and superior service.
They did this to me twice, and the second time I blame myself for giving them a second chance for an impulse buy. Never again; online specialists are the way to go for classic hardware and software.
"We wouldn't sell it if it was broken." This is what an employee told me the last time I was in there, inquiring about a potential purchase. He assured me they test everything before taking it in to resell. Well, how does that explain the deplorable, and nonworking condition of the hardware after I decided to believe him, and bought it? I went online and purchased the same console from a respected restoration specialist and I am far happier with how that went, and ended up with something that looks brand new AND the bonus of it actually functioning. Wow. What a concept, right?
The machine I bought from GameXchange? Tossed it in the trash. It was the last one they had, and they don't give refunds. I'd rather take a loss than store credit to further shop in a store that sells broken junk.
Buyer beware: you do have MANY other options for what GameXchange sells, and I am not even referring to GameStop. Go online, research, and buy with confidence. A little more effort for a lot more peace of mind...
Read moreI have bought a lot of games and hardware from here that didn't work or glitched up. And they sell older systems (like the older versions of the PS3) at full price and expect you to buy all the cables seprately.
Once I bought a game that came with a DLC disk. I got home and realized the DLC disk wasn't in the box. I called up there and was told that they didn't have the DLC disk so I went back up there the next day to either return it or to get at least part of my money back. Ended up they did have the DLC disk. The guy from the day before had lied to me.
ALSO. Just recently I bought two Blu Ray + DVD combos. They were both the same price and when I got them home, one didn't have the DVD in it. I went back to the store hoping to either get the DVD or my money back. When I had bought the Blu Ray + DVD combo there had been the same movie right beside it that didn't come with the DVD so I figured I had been given the wrong one. I got to the store I was given a bunch of excuses and told that they didn't have any more (even though I could still see the other one on the shelf). The man working there eventually gave me store credit after throwing the movie into a soda and knocking it over near a bunch of merchandise.
If they are going to get angry at me for wanting what I paid for and then not care about damaging the merchandise they are trying to sale, then I see no reason doing buisness with them. There is a Hastings, a Games 2 Go, and 3 Gamestops nearby that are MUCH more willing to help you find what you're looking for even if they don't have it in one of...
Read moreThe customer service from the gentleman with gages was horrible. I was sold a faulty PS5 controller. the microphone in the controller didn't work and when I asked for a refund because I was sold a faulty product he said no. Even though the controller was used and I wanted to just get a refund because I don't trust used electronics anymore they blatantly said no refunds whatsoever only store credit even though I was sold a faulty product. And when he gave me a replacement he didn't check the microphone or any of the other functions of the controller other than just plugging it up to his computer and fidgeting with the buttons. He didn't let me plug it into a console to make sure that I could check the vibration functions or the functionality of any of the other functions that can only typically be messed with on a console and treated me like I wasn't expressing a worthwhile complaint. Simply for the "no refunds" policy don't go here. If any trouble is had they will basically treat you like trash because they already...
