They moved a bunch of the equipment around. Not only only is it super frustrating to try to figure out where the machines are but they put some things in very awkward positions. Additionally I’m confused why they put the stretch machine in the corner facing the dark wall away from the mirror… it was in an open area (but near a boxing ball) but at least the area was open and comfortable to use, now I feel like if I use that machine I’m the unwanted stepchild stuffed in the corner. Also feels VERY UNSAFE as you’re forced to face the wall and you have no idea who may be walking up behind you or looking at you unwanted. At least before it was a mirror in front and you could see what was going on around you. Now, you just stare at the wall, hoping everyone in the gym is a decent person not doing anything wrong. But in my experience as a single woman would not allow me to believe that everyone in my environment will be perfect. I prefer to be aware of my surroundings.… around here it seems like A few Members make the decisions for everyone. But to make a move to create an unsafe environment is very disappointing... I’m not sure why management caters to the few members and lets them make the decisions for everyone. I’m not sure why management would accommodate that small group when there are other people that go to this gym also. Safety should be the number 1 concern, not a small amount of members
EDIT: why do you leave a response here telling me to contact you because this isn’t how you want your members treated? But you don’t respond to any online inquiries or messages left at your website. And I went in just now to talk to the North Hollywood manager about another issue we are having and I can’t tell you how disappointed I am in the way it was handled. And how greedy 24 Hour Fitness looks right now. You guys are the poster child for corporate greed at this point. You guys are sneaky and dishonest in your membership and the way you are handling your customers. And when I told the manager we would look around for other gym she said go ahead. 24 Hour Fitness knows people are going to cancel over this and they’re fine with that. Unless I wanted to sign up for a year which included an annual fee that they want to add which is not on my contract now. And I asked to see my contract and they said they must follow the terms of the contract, but they don’t have access to the contract and they won’t provide me with the contract. What place follows a contract, holds their client to the contract that was signed but refuses to give them a copy. But he said they gave me a copy when I originally signed it. Not sure how many years ago and that’s the copy I should refer to. They told me 24 Hour Fitness Would rather have me cancel then work with me. Wow, I’ve been a member for over 10 maybe even over 20 years and this is how we are treated when 24 Hour Fitness changes things on us with no Notification no explanation and it’s only Met with attitude when we inquire about it. Either 24 Hour Fitness is starting to go bankrupt and so they need to take advantage of their clients or they’re just jumping on the corporate greed ladder either way me and my family are probably gonna just cancel all our membership. Unless someone wants to reach out to me about this and we can talk about it further and find a resolution. Otherwise, I’ll have all of our memberships canceled before we get charged for another month…. Going to a gym that you trust and feel comfortable with is everything. I’ve lost lost all trust in 24 Hour Fitness and even being in the gym today gave me total feeling of cringe. And to a gym I was blindly loyal to until today. ** Don’t let this place for you. They want us to contact them to help resolve the issues, but they don’t do anything to resolve any issues. This location in the company all seems to care less and less about their members. If they really want to resolve something, they know how to reach me and I’m happy to find a resolution but every time I reach out they’re not interested so I don’t know why they...
Read moreWhen you really look at the monthly cost, the 24 hour access, this NOHO location has all the super-sport amenities ( pool, sauna/steam room, basketball court), free parking validation.... After you visit other gyms, you start to appreciate this one more even with all the negative reviews. Despite all the complaints, there is something special about it and I've come back to it as I felt my progress was stagnant at another supersport location I frequent (who's sauna and steam room are down for the next 2 weeks btw, they closed the pool permanently to build a green turf stretch area, and they close at 10pm, 8pm on weekends as a 24 hour fitness gym)...
Now, thing is... This is not equinox or some of these other luxurious gyms people pay for to not deal with a lot of the things people have complained about in reviews... For what you get at this price, I say stop complaining...
The homeless issue is real, but that's at a lot of other gyms that are open for 24 hours. It's not specific to here. One of the reasons I stopped coming to this location was not because of homeless people, but because management had started to close the sauna/steam room 11pm-3am, not because they were cleaning it, but because of the homeless problem. If I'm working out during those hours, I want my heat before/after, period. Don't close such an important amenity to my workout because of the problem, regulate the problem. Like if you're going to be in the spa area, make sure people look the part, don't wear/allow outside clothes/shoes and at least attempt to blend in. As long as everyone is respectful and clean, let's get our workouts in and focus on what we came there to do.
Staff... The GM is cool. It really just depends on your expectations as for the rest. If you're expecting to be greeted consistently and by every staff member, you'll be disappointed. It's a pretty standoff-ish vibe, but it's LA. Bring some headphones and focus.
Peak times are just that peak times. If you don't want to wait for machines, don't go 5-9pm weekdays. The perk with a 24 hour fitness gym. If you complain about this gym, count your blessings because many of the locations that actually survived the pandemic, did not return with a 24 hour schedule.
Cleanliness- Pre-pandemic this place was pretty clean. Of course the staff shortage has played a part in maintenance since the reopening.... The showers and locker room/spa areas could just use an extra couple rounds of scheduled cleanings during peak times. Things do happen/break sometimes, but it's usually repaired within a week or so if it's major.
THIS GYM IS NOT PERFECT, BUT THERE'S SOMETHING SPECIAL ABOUT IT. Clearly I'm not the only one who feels that way because it stays packed.
In closing, let's all clean up after ourselves so it doesn't all fall on the staff. Be considerate and respectful human beings and a lot of the problems would go away... And leave the spa area...

For what it is, this place is fine. Usually pretty busy, but they validate parking, which is nice.
My low rating is for transparency and communication. I had positive interactions with the people working at this location, they seem genuinely nice, but I was going to go in with a buddy pass with a friend and I was talked into a promotion they were having where I could essentially instead get two months for $1 by signing up for the promotion, saying I would cancel after a month and then being offered a free month in lieu of cancelling. This was incredibly misleading. The annual fee for the monthly membership is $50 and I was still charged that before even my first month of that $1 membership. To be fair, this is what the website advertises, but I was there in person, telling an employee I rarely go to the gym and was just tagging along with a friend. I was rushed into this and just agreed because it seemed like a good deal and I'd be able to join my friend more often. After I was charged the $50 2 weeks later, I called and asked if it was a mistake and if I could get a refund, I was told this was normal and they were sorry for the confusion, but I wouldn't get a refund.
I don't think I was tricked out of any intentional malice, but I did double and triple check in person that I would only be charged $1 because I was wary of the whole thing. Either communication skills of the people working the front desk need to be improved, or they are not being fully trained on what these promotions entail. Again, I didn't have any particular issues with this location. It was a bit grimy and stuffy and busy, but nothing worse than what you'd expect for this price point. I'm just extremely frustrated that I got charged that $50 when I just meant to tag along with a friend. I had a reminder in my calendar and everything to cancel.
I had been considering continuing the membership if I liked the location enough, but this experience left a sour taste in my mouth and I cancelled the membership. Getting no refund. So if you're just going in to test the place out, be careful! They have some good deals if you end up liking the place, but if you decide it's not a good fit, you may be surprised by what you...
