First visit to the museum, didn't get to go in bc on my skateboard and arrived too late. I was only really there to take pictures of the trees around the park this day anyways. What a place! There are actually people that enjoy parks in Los Angeles lol! A lot of people, not an argument to be seen. The only problem I had was the people who don't like me for whatever reason they have making my life difficult for whatever reason. Enough about me. Looked like there were plenty of places to sit, catch some sun in grass that doesn't smell like bum or dog pee! If you're not from here and used to it, that's a huge plus. A large gentle sloping hill to relax on. Baseball diamonds, Basketball courts, playgrounds, bathrooms( the one I seen was disgusting for some reason pictures attached),and trees lots of trees. A children's memorial that we are going to figure out( see pics attached) what exactly the message is in here. The moment I walked into the area I could tell there was digital artwork on every tile. As I am writing this I've not gone through the pics because I wanted to write the captions after this and studying the photos. But I'm betting about ninety person of everything that there are images on every one of those tiles. Let's hope they are positive and not negative banter by some knuckleheads. Sidenote. When I got there security told me the story of the children's memorial and said it is open late and I got all kinds of time. I went inside pretty soon after that conversation and wouldn't you know the security guard that was left to guard the place came in about :90 after I walked in and said it was time to go. He will be the one locking the gate up early in the picture I post. I don't know why everyone is always hating on me. But whatever. I'll keep doing what I do and y'all keep looking at the photos. We WILL figure it out somehow. But man, what a place. As you can see these trees have a great story to tell. So many ways to view them. There are a lot of lower sections of the park so the upward angle of the pictures automatically light them up because the sky is always in the background. Enjoy the park enjoy the trees enjoy the people enjoy the security, enjoy the museum, enjoy every minute you...
Read moreMy family and I visited the museum with our school-aged children thinking this would be an educational experience. Was I wrong! 5 min into our arrival we encountered a survivor, Mary. She came up to us in a such confrontational demenur, yelling at us for bringing our children and “exposing” them to such things as the museum. I was in utter shock! The rest of the tour just stared at us, the tour guide did NOTHING to remove her or calm her. I asked her to leave us alone and that I was their mother and I obviously approved of the visit. She continued to yell and verbally attack us, made my son cry as he starts to have a panic attack, begging to leave. The staff tried to calm US instead of HER! I was as polite as can be and never disrespected anyone. I know that if the roles were reversed, we would not only have been escorted maybe even detained. The security guard roled his eyes when we asked him to intervene. I don’t think she is an appropriate person to conduct tours. This place advertises school field trips, she most certainly should never be allowed to be around children!! Shame on this place for allowed what they very much are educating on, abuse and...
Read moreSo this museum is right across from The Grove. Just so you know the parking and admission is FREE. The parking lot has a gate, so you have to hit a button to buzz the place and they'll ask you how many people are coming, then they'll open the gate for you to come in. The parking underground is plentiful. After you park your car and get out to your car, you take the elevator up to the museum. They offer you an audio and headphones, which I recommend you taking (don't worry its FREE also). You get to visit through the 9 exhibits and your audio device comes in handy so you can hear the information and hear what other people had to say about their experience. It is a good educational experience. The whole exhibit takes about over an hour to complete. If you end up taking the time and listening to every audio clip, it may take...
