Customer service: Ordered pick up and nowhere does it indicate it’s at a different location. The woman at the counter at burger she wrote couldn’t be bothered to explain. Instead she directed me to read the sign at the entrance, which also had incorrect information. Gave 3 stars for the lovely woman at the pickup location, who was friendly and apologized for all the confusion on pick up process. Otherwise it would be 0000.

Food: Great flavor profiles and I can see why folks like this spot. However, after the search for my to go order, it was pretty cold. Burger patty did not look substantial as in other customers’ photos. Rather, it was smashed into such a paper thin piece that it congealed with the cheese into a thin almost-crispy accompaniment to the onions, pickles, tomatoes, etc. While tasty, it felt skimpy, even though I don’t eat large portions. I felt full mostly from the bun. The fries were soggy with oil and unevenly cooked. Again, I saw the potential with the few that were actually crispy, but some were downright burnt and inedible with all the excess oil. Overall, I would go back and give it another try if it wasn’t for the arrogance of the counter staff and management who seem to think customers are Uber eats drivers and should be okay with the inconvenience of learning last minute that we need to go to a separate location for pickup. I really wanted to support a local business, but I’ll stick to fat burger, shake shack or in and out next time I’m craving a...

Got the Oklahoma double burger with NO (!!!) cheese $14 + hand-cut fries $5 and ate it ON-SITE, right away.

Overall grade B-: No issue w/ the burger meat or the onions, those were tasty.

But the burger bun itself is the size of a slider. Which makes the burger patties themselves seem huge and overflowing but the whole thing is super-super-hard and messy to hold and eat. You’re basically grabbing the meat with your fingers especially that the lower bun disintegrates from the juices.

Also the bun is SWEET! As in Kings Hawaiian bread sweet. Because it actually is. There was another sweet touch I detected, perhaps a tiny amount of relish? I just don’t want anything sweet in my burgers. Ever.

The fries were good and golden brown but limp and lukewarm, not hot. I don’t understand why because I saw them frying a new batch while I was waiting but maybe they combined it with one that was sitting around? Not sure.

I wish BSW would offer a decent non-sweet, bigger bun. Until then, this place won’t be on my regular rotation.

PS Thank God that I remembered to ask for no cheese. When I order something listed as a “burger” or “hamburger” on a menu, no, I don’t expect a “cheeseburger” and it’s a huge peeve of mine when restaurants don’t bother taking 2 seconds to ask the simple question, “with cheese or without?”. So many of my burgers get ruined because of that.. and...

I can overlook the hard overcooked fries but what took away from the experience was the customer service. Whoever the young lady was left a sour taste.

1- she was very inattentive and dismissive. I had to repeat my order twice. Then when I asked if cheese comes with it instead of saying yes or no she directed me to look at the menu. After all that she got my order wrong…

2- I asked for a ginger ale and she said they’re sold out. Now after I’d gotten my to go order she went to the back I didn’t immediately leave out because she forgot napkins (which were well behind cashier point) and thankfully so because she reappeared with a case of ginger ales. I called her out and her response was “they were sold out which is why she’s restocking them”. The girl could have easily done this from the beginning. I would have gladly waited as I ended up having to do anyway.

3- Lastly upon asking for the missing napkins behind the register she said you should have some in your bag. Like is she really getting snappy when clearly I wouldn’t have had to ask if she’d put them in the bag to begin with and god forbid if I wanted extra!

I complained to the store directly via their website and never heard back which is fine I will not...

Continuing on my burger tour I was eagerly made aware of this spot. Intrigued by the whispers of superior meat quality courtesy of wagyu beef I ventured out to check for myself. Tiny spot with very few indoor and outdoor seats. The menu is concise and straightforward with just four items. The Oklahoma burger while enjoyable and flavorful the overall presentation and execution were satisfactory. It is peppery, sweet and salty with the crunchy meat slipping out the sides of the bun. The meat to bun ratio is way off so it was definitely messy to eat and even harder to get the smell of meat off my hand even after a few washes. It is served sizzling hot and I nearly scorched the roof of my mouth taking the first few bites. Luckily the fries are reminiscent of the classic fast food taste, crispy on the outside tender on the inside for the most part, so I nibbled on those for a few while my burger cooled. The pickles were tasty and the chipotle bbq sauce condiment elevated the entire experience. You will leave feeling rich and full. This type of a burger is a once in a while type, reserved for moments of intrigue, worth trying at least once but probably will not become your goto given the other burger options around town.

One of the best smash burgers that I’ve had in Los Angeles. It’s better than a lot of the other competitors nearby. The menu is small, as well as the interior. There are only about 5 counter seats inside total and no standing room. However the flavors are truly great, the meat is seasoned perfectly, it just has a great flavor to it. There is no dedicated parking so your only option will be street parking. There are only three options on the menu, and we got all of them. They have the Smash Burger, in a single or double, and the Oklahoma Burger, which is basically the same thing as the smash but with onions. They also have a Grilled Cheese, as well as French Fries. Both the burgers tasted great, I enjoyed the one with the onions, just because it added an additional taste profile. I wish the fries were less crispy, but I still enjoyed them. Overall a great casual burger spot that I would recommend to anyone. The smash style burger is huge in Los Angeles and this is definitely one of the best places to get one.
