I have been shopping here for many years and just like everyone else said, the selections of food, including fresh meat and fish along with variety of noodles is always something to enjoy. The food sections is a place me and a few co-workers every now and then enjoy when we have time to sit down and enjoy delicious meal as this was close to work. Tonight after long hours from work my 3 kids were with me to do our grocery and to pick up some ready to eat meal. After paying for the items, my son wanted to eat his chicken with rice so I decided to ask for a fork since there are few stall here that cater and this are ready for customers who buy meals here. I politely went to "Poki" to ask for a fork only to find out the ready meal I grabbed was from another sections, rather than being polite and maybe just hand me a small fork for my son, he said go see the cashier because this is not a food he sold. I stood inline again as to not interrupt the same cashier I paid my grocery and meal, he referred me to the manager to get a fork otherwise I will need to buy a box of forks. I thought he was joking so I said you got to be kidding right? He said no, if you need a fork you need to see a manager..OMG........ so with the security gentlemen shaking his head for how I am being treated after I just paid my grocery and to think I have been coming here for years. I would have just grabbed the fork my self but they are behind the server. I can't believe I was made to see a manager to ask for a fork as I was not going to buy a box of fork so my son can enjoy the hot food they just sold us. The manager tried to explain that these are vendors and if they did not sell the food, they will not give me a fork. I can't believe the explanation the manager just gave me but after the embarrassing situations, he went and got me a fork. I told the manager Mr. Terry Lee that I have been a loyal customer and I can not believe they will compromise over a fork that they should have provided anyway. Needless to say, after so many years, I will never come back here again. There is no loyalty to customers and there seem to be no importance as how to treat the customer. I was respectful and advise the manager that I will be writing about my experience. I returned the groceries and everything else the kids bought but I kept the food because the kids were hungry. I explained to Mr. Lee that I am returning what I have purchased out of principle and to show how I felt about the treatment. This was a good place for us for many years, too bad they are not customer focused and I did not know that they will go to this length over a plastic fork for my boy. For what ever it is worth, I would like to thank the security gentlemen who apologized to my family and felt bad about what the store did who was there the whole time, you sir was the reason I didn't lose all my cool this evening and...
Read moreoday, I had a really upsetting and disappointing experience at a store that I used to like. As soon as I walked in, I noticed that the scrutiny guard and some of the workers were staring at me in a way that made me feel really uncomfortable. It wasnât the usual kind of attention you get when someoneâs ready to help â this was different. They looked at me like I didnât belong there, like I was doing something wrong just by being in the store.
Not long after I walked in, I realized that one of the workers was following me. At first, I tried to ignore it, thinking maybe I was just overthinking things. But then I noticed another worker doing the same thing, and then the security guard joined in too. They werenât being secretive about it either. They were walking down the same aisles as me, pretending to fix things or act busy, but it was obvious they were watching my every move.
It really hurt because I wasnât doing anything suspicious. I was just looking around, trying to find a few things to buy. But instead of feeling welcomed, I felt like I was being treated like a criminal. The workers didnât greet me with kindness or ask if I needed help. Instead, they looked at me with judgment in their eyes. They didnât smile or speak to me with any respect â they were rude, cold, and had absolutely no manners.
What made it worse is that it seemed like the only reason they were acting this way toward me was because Iâm a Black girl. It felt like they had already made up their minds about who I was before I even opened my mouth. They followed me like they thought I was going to steal something, and it was humiliating. No one should ever be made to feel like that just because of the color of their skin.
I left the store feeling angry, disrespected, and honestly just really sad. No one should ever have to go through what I went through today. Everyone deserves to be treated with respect, no matter what they look like or where they come from. This experience reminded me that thereâs still a lot of work to do when it comes to treating people fairly...
Read moreIâve been coming out here for years. They have a wide range of goods and decent selection at reasonable prices. đ Sounds like a clichĂŠ commercial but Iâm serious!!! The manager ahjusshi is kind and helpful in answering questions about membership which I highly recommend you sign up. The produce overall are fresh, it always beats Wholefood prices, and the snacks are đŁ Unfortunately had to drop it to 3 âď¸s, because a couple of the staff were really rude to us (everyone else is hella nice tho. The veteran staffđ). Like I get if youâre having a bad day, but really?? Is this how you treat customers? It made my friend feel worse especially after losing her dadđĄ No need to be rude and sarcastic when YOU think the customer is being rude. Just do your job and move the line along mmkayđ¤Śđ˝ââď¸The customer service used to not be this bad. Some dude named Victor was harassing my friend and even laughing about it. I mean, yikes.. sorry you hate your life bro? And then this chic named Johanna(?) violently ripped open one of those plastic bag of produce, tossed it aside like itâs trash, and then nada. We were like uhhh... đŹ The least you could do us at least say something before ripping opening a bag like it needs heart surgeryâŚ? My friend had to ask for a new bag⌠like where is the common sense and basic customer service LOL. Never seen a grocery store employee be this aggressive with a bag before đ She looks like she needs coffee and then some. Or ngl sheâs one step away from falling off a bridge. Again, I get that youâre miserable, Jhoana(sp?) but no need to be a bâ-h. If youâre going to be a bâh to customers, then youâre def not in the right role and need to reevaluate your life choices âď¸â¨ Still, my fam, friends, and I are thankful for the other awesome staff who care for our groceries in line or at the counter, understand basic customer service, and make it a pleasant shopping...
