My experience with Rove Concepts and my purchase of the Diane sofa has been so frustrating and disappointing that I feel compelled to warn others.
I purchased the Diane Sofa because I was drawn to the design and sold on the idea that this was a premium piece. It was intended as both a statement piece in my living room and, yes, still something that would be lived on. I took incredible care of it, never ate or drank near it, and nothing has ever been spilled on it. And yet, strange discolourations and stains have started appearing on the fabric over the last few months, despite the couch having been initially purchased and delivered in the fall of last year.
The company continues to brush it off, suggesting solutions that have not helped in the slightest. While I once suggested these marks might be caused by water (possibly from wet hair or clothing), I only mentioned this as a guess, because frankly, I’ve been at a complete loss. These marks show up randomly, with no known cause, and continue to show up on my couch.
What’s worse, the moment I followed their suggested cleaning method, the stain that I tested became more pronounced and now looks like a bullseye permanently etched into the fabric. This is not how quality fabric should behave.
I’ve owned IKEA furniture that has held up better than this.
I can’t believe how I’m dealing with stains that shouldn't have been an issue in the first place, and now a visibly altered patch from their recommendations.
I believe this to be a manufacturing defect, as it’s clearly a problem with the integrity of the fabric. This makes me wonder if that is why it is always on sale. Paying $2000+ for a piece of furniture should come with peace of mind in both the quality and customer service.
When I reach out for support, I am often met with robotic responses, and on the latest one, a message about a 3-day reporting window and a warranty that doesn’t cover fabric issues. This was the first time I’d even heard of that policy. From my understanding, after 72 hours, they just wash their hands of any responsibility and quality of their products.
Their best offer throughout this entire ordeal? “Try hiring a professional cleaner.”
I’m honestly shocked. I’ve purchased a lot of furniture in my life and have never encountered this level of inflexibility, poor product performance, and dismissiveness from a brand that presents itself as high-end.
To anyone considering buying from this company: proceed with caution. If anything goes wrong, they will not take accountability. On top of everything, you may find yourself like me, stuck with a very expensive, rapidly deteriorating couch that you’re afraid to even sit on.
EDIT: After the business responded (unhelpfully), I did more research and found I’m far from alone. Multiple reviews on Trustpilot and elsewhere mention the exact same issues, especially with modern felt fabrics like Alesund. One reviewer even warns: “AVOID the modern felt colors (Alesund)--as pretty as it is, just not practical for even limited daily use.” Others mention persistent stains being caused by the material itself, with one stating: “The ** from Rove Concepts has a severe defect that it generates, then absorbs and persists stains,” and another saying: “It is obvious that the fabric is leaching a chemical and...
Read moreOur customized counter stools arrived damaged and way past the delivery date. Fine, massive delays still impact various industries since covid but as for the damage, that’s unacceptable. There were scratches and dents on the metal portions of the counter stools, which are very visible since it’s a mat black metal. Legs are uneven with significant wobbling of stools. Underside of stools were sloppily sewn together. Materials and quality are great but we are disappointed with the damage, uneven legs, and how it was put together in some areas. They gave us a very small credit towards future purchase. We weren’t extremely pleased with the credit because we spent a good amount with the purchase of four counter stools but we accepted because we just wanted to proceed with a second purchase. I asked multiple times for a breakdown of the credit before providing one. And it wasn’t correct.
At the time of purchase we were told we’d receive a 30% voucher for future purchase and I agreed because the fine print stated the cap for the voucher was at $500 to $1000. When it was time to purchase the second item and use that voucher and store credit, our account reflected only a $25 voucher. I informed them that we were promised a 30% and they apologized and included $300 voucher. Pretty problematic that they were unaware of the 30% voucher. I informed them that the voucher amount was incorrect and they responded that they informed us at the time of purchase that the voucher cap would be at $300, but they did not. I procured all the evidentiary documentation such as email correspondences etc to show we were never informed of this amount cap. Additionally, we provided a screenshot of where it stated the $500 cap. I asked for records of when we were told given they record their phone calls since I purchased the stools over the phone. Haven’t received anything yet. We have been going back and forth for 3 months now with all these issues.
Room and Board just replaced our $1000 lamp with no hassle even though we have had it for a long time. I recommend purchasing your furniture from there. They offer white glove service and etc. I loved the designs and vision from Rove Concepts. I do not love being mislead and given the run around for...
Read moreI’m absolutely disgusted by the so-called “white glove” service from Rove Concepts! On October 13, I purchased a full set of furniture from them, and it is supposed to take only two deliveries. In reality, it dragged on for two whole months, split into six separate deliveries before I finally received everything. And every single time, there was some kind of problem: missing items, damaged pieces, or something else going wrong. To make matters worse, there was even one delivery that only included a replacement for a table lamp they’d broken previously, and the delivery guy still forced me to tip. It’s infuriating!
I paid nearly $2,000 for their so-called “white glove” service but ended up with endless delays, broken products, and the hassle of rearranging my entire schedule multiple times. I’ve ended up paying over $500 in tips alone due to these unnecessary, repeated deliveries. Meanwhile, the store manager’s idea of compensation for all this aggravation was a $200 voucher, which doesn’t even cover one percent of what I spent in-store. It’s laughable that they think this is sufficient to make up for the time and money I’ve lost.
Frankly, if anyone out there wants a smooth or hassle-free experience, stay far away from Rove Concepts! Their promises are nothing but empty words. If I could, I’d return everything in a heartbeat, but I’ve already poured too much time and money down the drain. In my opinion, all I got for my substantial investment was unnecessary stress and aggravation. Rove Concepts is absolutely not worth the trouble.
The one small silver lining in this entire disaster was Yasmin, who was actually a helpful salesperson and gave me plenty of good suggestions. However, even her professionalism and guidance couldn’t save me from the nightmare that the rest of Rove Concepts...
