This shop disappoints me severely in terms of its Customer Service. Everything else about this shop is absolutely fine. I have been a patron of Another Castle for years and will continue to be, however this location has had a steady decline in Customer Service over the past 3 years. I have spent a couple thousand dollars over the years at Another Castles various locations.
The Instance specifically that irritates me was experienced second hand. A little girl had asked one of the shop keeps "Where the princess was". The Employee, apathetic just said flat out to the little girl "I get the joke, but there is no princess in this castle" making the little girl feel uncomfortable and sad. I experienced this as I was browsing the selections of games here and was appalled at how unfriendly the Employee was to a child who is looking to have a positive time in a video game store.
My personal experience right after having listened to this situation unfold was a bit rude. I had purchased a copy of Pokemon Blue, as I was looking for a cartridge in acceptable condition to add to my collection. The two Employees had the following exchange in front of me as I was being rung out:
"Man, maybe I should trade in my Pokemon Blue, what am I going to do with it"
"Maybe you should trade in your Pokemon Blue"
"Yeah, maybe you'll be the one to ring me out when I trade it in"
This exchange was subtle yet felt like a dig at me for buying Pokemon Blue. I shouldn't have any inkling of being antagonized for any games I purchase in Another Castle, yet I felt as though I was getting ripped on for just buying a game from my childhood and about how the game was "effectively worthless".
The date and time of which this occurred was 9/17/23 around 1-3pm. I hope that any follow up from this review can at the very least speak to the employees that were on shift. I get consistently better customer service from Gamestops rotating crew in the mall across the street. I know that this location...
Read moreCUSTOMER SERVICE can really enhance the experience for people when they're out shopping at brick and mortar stores. I'm assuming this person was having a bad day but Cashier ID#74 needs a real attitude adjustment. I felt like he didnt want people shopping in the store. I asked one question and it was like I ruined his entire day( his eyes started rolling and making hard sighs with his breathing ) my wife laughed when we got to the car LOL this guy was seriously bothered by me asking my total!.. All I wanted to do with my time today was buy video games, and I figured "hey why not shop locally instead logging onto eBay" .You know put some money back into my community(BAD CHOICE). Now I see why most of the world would rather buy things with the click of a finger and not have to deal with shenanigans like this. This is my second experience here which was very unpleasant, but my first time was excellent. First time I came here is the reason I came back. There was a guy who was extremely helpful my 1st visit. I'm not taking anymore chances at this place though because it's not worth the frustration when I'm already dealing with day to day life in 2020, I'M GOOD! . My advice Cashier ID#74 if you don't like dealing with people, DON'T work retail. Customer service is pretty much why anyone works retail. I know we all need jobs but It's not my fault you don't like yours dude. I didn't do...
Read moreI normally really like Another Castle and have gotten games there more than a few times. They have great deals!
The reason I'm giving 2 stars though is their customer service. Today I was watching a kid try to sell his system and it was taking awhile. The sales associate (young asian lady) was taking too long helping him when it was clear that something was not working with his system and/or games...
I wanted to look at these 3ds games in the glass casing just for 5 to 10 minutes to see if they had a couple of games I wanted. My husband asked the boy to excuse us so we can take a peek; but the boy barely let us look for a minute before he rushed us away saying, "Excuse me we are doing something here..." Sales associate did nothing...Is this how you let your other customers treat customers? It was a very rude interaction.
I'm sorry but it was clear that his system was not working and you allowed him to act like he owned the store and could do whatever with customers and your store's test system? I was a customer ready to buy two games today and just left appalled by the behavior.
Your store needs better customer service protocols to handle situations like this. I'm hoping the manager sees this so customers can be treated better.
This was at the Lynnwood Alderwood Another Castle and happened on March 16, 2019 at...
