Came here on a bit of a lark (vaguely familiar with the company as they've done work on my spouse's watch) with a very, very specific watch aesthetic in mind and pretty sure I was looking for a Citizen and/or Seiko, although certainly not limited to those two, and after not having a lot of luck at the outlet mall and various other jewelry stores (other places never had anything that gave me a WOW moment).
Greeted pretty much immediately by a woman I later learned was owner/co-owner(?), even though they were clearly slammed, and wandered around while waiting which was NOT a hardship, so many pretty watches and other things to browse. Not waiting too long before it was my turn, worked with two people, and got to see a decent selection of Citizen and quite a lot of lovely Seiko, plus a few others as recommended by our expert. He knew his stuff, clearly, and was passionate on the subject. I happily added several brands and a lot of info based on his knowledge...
And then I ran across a vintage Ebel. The Ebel wave is a design I fell in love with online but knowing it wasn't common in the states, and hadn't been for a while, I didn't really expect to see it in person. Thus began a basically all day back and forth decision waffling over whether I could justify the four digit price tag (significantly higher than I had initially planned) or not for a watch that has been my "one to beat" since I knew it existed. Left and came back several times. I greatly admire their patience as I asked many follow up questions and was surely trying their patience during a busy day.
In the end it was a surprisingly easy. I bought the watch. This set into motion a pretty hectic looking process locating the original box and manual(!), as well as making sure I was okay with engraved initials (a unique charm of vintage pieces that I am A OK with), sizing, making sure I had a quick run down of Things Not To Do, how to open and close the unusual clasp, as well as what to expect for the battery change (another unusual process), etc.
Everyone was extremely friendly, solicitous, and above all very kind, even though we must have been a bit of a trial. Could not recommend this place higher, even if you are a bit of newcomer to nice watches. I wear my watch (nearly) every day and it still...
Read more"Arc Watch Works & Engraving", located in Washington's Lynnwood Alderwood Mall, is a top drawer business that is staffed with professional sales staff as well as technicians.
The "Arc Watch Works & Engraving" shop is a clean and fresh establishment. It's not a shop with broken clocks sitting open and unsecured while collecting dust as the days and weeks turn into months, with no repairs of any kind.
I state this after my husband and I recently took back our clock from just such a shop, where our beautiful heirloom clock had been left unsecured on an open shelf with numerous other neglected clocks. Those clocks were likewise unsecured and were similarly gathering dust. The shop keeper's excuse for not making timely repairs to our clock was that he was still waiting for a replacement motor.
On that same day and after taking our clock back into our possession, we learned that the needed replacement motor was in fact locally available.
And, on that same day, we also discovered the "Arc Watch Works & Engraving" shop, located in Lynnwood WA, Alderwood Mall. Here we were had our clock repaired that same day and within an hour!
During that hour, we had a nice stroll through the Mall, while we enjoyed a hot cup of Starbucks coffee and popped into REI to snag a good buy on our favorite Smart Wool socks.
When "Arc Watch Works & Engraving" finished their repair of our clock, the cost was very reasonable. And, we felt appreciative and happy to tip the staff for their excellent service.
I am glad to report that our clock is now back in our home and is keeping time to the second, thanks to "Arc Watch Works & Engraving".
When the time comes to buy a new time piece or have one fixed or to simply have new batteries installed, I will not hesitate to go directly back to this very fine establishment.
Thanks again to the good folks at "Arc Watch Works & Engraving" for their excellent work and professional...
Read moreI consider myself a watch enthusiast and I’ve been searching Washington for actual watch stores filled with people with actual watch knowledge instead of the Zales, Cline, and Fred Meyer jeweler where they have little information on the few watches in their cases.
I was in Nordstroms and walked to the mall entrance, when I walked into the mall, the store was right there, obviously I had to check it out and walked inside. The store was fairly big, they had a huge stock of watches from all brands, from Citizen to Rolex, they also had some nice jewelry, like rings and custom fancy pens.
I inquired about some Tiffany blue dial watches and to my delight the owners were exactly the kind of people I’ve been looking for, highly knowledgeable about all things watches and enthusiastic about the hobby. Finally people to nerd out with about different automatic movements.
I’ve returned to this place a few times since my first visit to have my watches serviced and to also just plan on the next watch to add to the collection. I haven’t found any other watch stores in the lynnwood Seattle area this focused on time pieces
I highly recommend this place If you’re a watch nerd. Sam and Farida (owners) never try to up sale me but instead help guide me to something I will love for a long time and also teach me about the subtle nuances in craftsmanship from the different brands.
I suggest you drop in and ask Sam or Farida what they’re rocking on the wrist that day, you will not be...
