I’ve been visiting Macinaw City for over 35 years and always loved my time here with family. Unfortunately we’ve had many less than pleasant experiences. Very sad that Mackinaw Crossings allows improper businesses in their facility. I shopped at Aphrodite today and I purchased an item that was advertised to be something else than what it was and refused a refund after I noticed. They have no website or social media, I’m assuming they are a pop up scam business that will be collecting our money this weekend and disappear. Buyer BEWARE!!! The amenities have not been kept over the years, the bathrooms and some of the stores have definitely been neglected. Thankfully Harbor Wear & Teysons is still there and keeping up on their store front and products and a few others. I’m in hopes the Chambers of Commerce or DDA start seeing some of this Economic Vitality downfalls at play here. We will most likely be visiting St. Ignace next summer to see...
Read moreWell the bridge is my happy place so Mackinaw is my happy place also, but I noticed that Mackinaw City and the crossings are starting to look a little/very rundown which makes me very sad. Only a handful of stores took the time to spruce up the front of the store. Lots of grass and weeds growing and cracks on the sidewalk and next to the storefronts The pavers could use a good power washing and re-sanding the crossings well they were really good in the beginning now it's just a bunch of different stores with the same stuff inside which makes it no different than Main Street itself I hope Mackinac City association sees this and it gives them a kick in the pants to clean the place up please! So I have two pictures One you can clearly tell what it is the other is a key chain with a piece of the bridge grading my oldest daughter gave me because the bridge really is my happy place. Don't know why. Just makes me feel good inside...
Read moreGreat little outdoor boutique shopping experience. You can stroll around the outside and there are shops, restaurants, movie theater, gift shops, and much more. There is live entertainment most times. You can get beer, liquor, and all kinds of other refreshments and tasty treats. It's set up like you are walking through a little village. It's very nice and unique. There are plenty of benches, tables, and other places to sit, listen to music, eat, drink, or just people watching. This is a great place for families with lots of attractions too. It's also free....unless you purchase something. Great for walking off a good dinner. The movie theater is a great place to see a good movie. We saw Top Gun Maverick on opening night. It was awesome! Check this place out! I'm sure you'll find something...
