I went to buy a remote start for my wife’s vehicle at the beginning of December. I was told the installation had to be done in Eden Prairie (1 hour from where I live). I told them that was fine, when they scheduled the appointment they told me the parts would be there. The day of the appointment we got to the Best Buy in Eden Prairie and were told it was at a different location and that I could buy it again there but I would have to reschedule my appointment. I then called the Best Buy in Mankato where I bought it and made the appointment to see what was going on. The lady that I talked to said everything looked right on her end. I asked the lady if she could call the Eden Prairie Best Buy to let them know. She called and was told my appointment was there but the parts were sent to a different location. I ended up contacting corporate to make a complaint. I was told I would get compensated for my troubles I just had to go to the store and speak to the manager. I did end up going to speak with them so I could make the complaint and get my appointment rescheduled. The guy that was rescheduling my appointment told me he was not sure what the guy before did but there was a mess with the whole transaction/appointment. He ended up having to cancel the whole transaction and make a new one but turns out they didn’t even have that remote start available anymore….what happened to the one I purchased? He told me the next available appointment would be the December 26 but they wouldn’t get that remote start in until the 27th and the next available appointment would be in February. I ended up canceling the whole thing and spoke to the manager about my whole experience and asked if I could at least get compensated for my time. He asked for my information and said he would speak to his higher ups and would contact me in a couple days. It’s been almost a month and haven’t heard anything. Really bad experience will not be buying...
Read moreNothing actually wrong with the store, but there is one employee there. Anthony, I believe his name was. I went in a while ago just browsing. I saw the appliances and asked about gas dryers, since I saw they were all electric (I need a gas dryer because my house is too old for electric) the employee that first offered to help didnt know much so he went to get an employee who did.
In comes Anthony.
Me: "Yeah, do you have gas dryers?" Anthony: "Yes."
I was honestly a little stumped. Well great lovely yeah ok I'm not going to buy a dryer I've never seen. So I shook my head to say like 'show me?' And he just flops his arm towards the electric dryer we were standing next to like I'm some idiot animal that needs herding. Me: "Right, but gas." Anthony: "Gas is more expensive." Me: "It happens, but where are the gas dryers?" Anthony: "Why dont you just get an electric?" Me: "My house is too old to get an electric. I need a gas dryer." Anthony: "Your house doesnt have electricity?" Me: "It does, but not the right voltage or whatever for an electric dryer." Anthony: "Well, it's an extra $100 because it's an adapter." Me: now confused "No, I cant have it electric at all. It needs to be gas." Anthony: as slowly and condescendingly as possible "Its an adapter that turns electric into gas."
Now. I've never heard of this. I'm not an expert. I barely know what I'm looking for. I was simply considering places I could get a gas dryer. Ding dong I was wrong. So rather than suffer more of his patronizing attitude I thanked...

I go in there a while back. I went looking for a helmet I could use. No one acknowledged my presence, well they did because they stared and walked past multiple times. No “hi,” no “welcome,” no “do you need assistance.” I finally ask “hey, do you know where I could find helmets?” A guy finally interacts with me, I go to pay, I say a greeting to the cashier… He doesn’t respond.
Flash forward to today (5/12/25), my brother and I walk in. Same thing. Until my brother goes and says “excuse me, do you know where we can find a mobile hotpsot .” Anyway, he warms up to us and before we leave he says “Let me know if you want to sign up for Verizon!” We laugh and move on. Now, aside from him… the energy was weird, everyone (besides the young man who helped us) made us feel out of place and like we didn’t belong. So 2 stars because of that man today and the one man who helped me -because I had to ask. It doesn’t matter who comes into your store, customer service professionalism is still greeting ALL potential customers. I don’t ever want to hear the words Best Buy ever again tbh. If I need something, I’ll give my money to those with genuine kindness. I pray that this town would get back to its humble and kinder ways. It seems lost.
God bless on all future...
