If I could give it zero stars I ABSOLUTELY would. Horrible experience. I have came to Luxer many times never have I ever had this bad of an experience. I have never left a review before that is how bad the experience was, when I got there I got a male that I have gone to multiple times (he has the compass tattoo on his arm I don’t know his name) during the removal of my nails he was using the electric drill on my nails and it kept burning me and was very painful I told him multiple times that it was very hot on my nails. He was also not considerate during the removal taking my natural nails into consideration. My nails felt like they were burning the entire time from how much he was drilling on them and how hot they got. He was so rude the entire time he was doing my nails. As soon as he sat down he was scrolling through social media right in front of me just having me wait, watched YouTube videos while doing my nails, took phone calls, and kept stopping in the middle of my appt to either scroll on his phone again or to change the video he was watching. INCREDIBLY RUDE. When I asked for clear acrylic instead of pink he rolled his eyes at me. When it came to doing the polish I told him I wanted one coat of bubble bath and to do a French tip. He started applying the bubble bath in uneven coats some have way more on them than others. When he started doing the French he asked if it was good I simply asked if we could do the white line thinner he aggressively took all of the white off and proceeded to do a completely different type of French I ask if we could not do the white line all the way down the sides in front of everyone in the salon he yelled and said that I wanted it thinner. I have never wanted to just walk out of a place faster. Insanely unprofessional everyone staring at me in the salon I told him to forget about doing the French all together he sighed and wiped it off. He finished with the top coat and proceeds to put no lotion on no cuticle oil and I walked out with bleeding cuticles left over dried acrylic on my finger tips and dry cuticles from him cutting me around my nails. When I went to pay he told me it was going to be $80 DOLLARS. I have never payed that amount at this salon even when getting French I ask why I am being charger that much he named off random reasons. if he was going to charge me $20 dollars over how much I usually pay you think someone would explain that in the beginning. I went through and paid because I wanted to leave so bad I added a tip because even when they do a horrible job I still believe people should be paid for a service thinking back on it I wish I would have stood up for myself and asked for a manager. I tipped I wish I didn’t. I will never be returning to this salon. Very loyal...
Read more[Update]: I have upgraded this review from a 2 star to a 3 star because removal of this requires trust and rebuilding of client relationship and I am not comfortable with it yet, but will acknowledge they are working to rectify the situation with me.
I received a call from Vincent who apologized for the situation. He acknowledged my frustrations and understood. He noted he could do my nails for me and asked if I would give them another chance He was the one who did do them in the past, but when I would text for I wouldn't get a response...so I am unsure if my messages were even received then, so he confirmed his number was still the same. I stopped by over a week ago to see if Vincent was free to just do gel polish and he was. They turned out cute. I will no longer be a customer of Luxer. Their Gel says soak off, not grind/drill off. I have been coming here for years and it seems as of late to be a debated about how Id prefer my nails to be treated for health. I have naturally thin nails and the drill is very uncomfortable and always wears my thin nails down. Historically, in the beginning they went the extra mile to soak and buff without the drill...as they pointed out "Oh, you have very thin nails". I have always tipped extra for that effort.
Today I go to check out and I am told an arbitrary price that is not listed on website, because I ask for my nails to be soaked off, which is clear on the bottle of gel nail polish that says soak off gel. They didnt charge me that price the last two times and ssid nothing upfront. Once I made my sentiments known they charged me the regular price. If the goal is to rush and not care about the health and condition of your clients nails there is no point for me to come back. I see them soaking off White clients nails all the time, by using acetone cotton ballnand foil...I shouldnt have to argue for the same treatment that should come with service. Also, I have to advocate for each step of the manicure which should be a given and warm soak, but instead I have to ask and then get cold water and have to ask for new warm water. Then the dry cuticle clipping without soaking is painful and once again I shouldnt have to instruct on technique that should come with service. At one point this nail spa cared about nail health, now it seems like quantity over quality and that is...
Read moreI went to Luxer 2 days ago for a gel polish change on my natural nails. I had my original manicure done at another salon a month prior but the location of Luxer was more convenient than my regular salon that day. After a little bit of miscommunication about what type of polish I had on my nails, Tami filed them down and proceeded to repaint my nails with a different gel polish. 2 days later, one of them chipped. I went back in and asked them if they would fix it. They asked me where I had them done and I told them I had been there two days prior, sat at station 3 and Tami had painted them. If I wasn't already disappointed about having to go back for a nail repair after 2 days, it got even worse from here. They asked me what color I had on my nails, and I told them that I didn't know. I had selected the color from a pallet. They gave me a few pallets to look through and I didn't recognize any of the shades that matched what I had on my nails. They sat me down at station 5 and she proceeded to file not just the chipped nail, but she filed the polish off of all of them. She asked me what color I wanted. I told her that if they couldn't match what I had then I would be happy to pick a new color. So she gave me a pallet and told me to pick one. I picked a new shade. She said that since I was choosing a new color it would cost me $15 extra because they couldn't confirm that I had originally come to their salon. Are you kidding me? I told them that I knew who painted my nails and in what chair. I told him it was Tami and she shook her head no. A man working there asked me for my telephone number and I gave it to him. He must have looked me up in the computer and saw that I had indeed been there just 2 days prior and I also left her a 25% tip. They had me move to another station and Jenny repainted my nails and made sure the tips were covered but it was rushed and she only put one layer of top coat on. I was really disappointed. Not only in a poor manicure but being called a liar on top of that. I used to go there all of the time when I lived in the apartments across from them and during covid, when they reopened, I often gave them 50% tips to help support them. I'm never going back there. I don't care if I have to drive 20 mi across town, I'll go to Le Nails every time...
