Ichiddo Ramen in Maple Grove = Don’t waste your time. It’s a chain restaurant so go to the Roseville or Minneapolis locations instead. Service is so much better at those two locations.
Wait to get seated - 10 minutes. Wait to order food - 5 minutes. Wait for food - 30 minutes and we didn’t even get all of our food.
Again, it’s a chain restaurant. My husband and I are regulars at the Roseville and Minneapolis locations so we already know what we wanted to order. We sat down for 5 minutes before we were served water. We decided to put our orders in right away even though the waitress only brought us water, it would have been longer if we didn’t put our orders in when they served us water.
After 30 minutes after putting our order in, we finally got one of our bowls of ramen. However, it was missing the spicy paste we requested. We asked the waitress about the missing spicy paste and she told us that the bowl was missing it because we got the bowl by accident. It’s supposed to be another customer’s bowl of ramen, but she brought it to us by accident. She went back to the kitchen and returned with some red oil, which is not what the usual spicy paste that we usually get. She did mention that if we wanted it spicy, she will have to charge extra for it - by the way, the same spicy paste is FREE at the Roseville and Minneapolis locations. By now, an hour has gone by and our remaining bowl of ramen is still MIA. The bowl of ramen that we did get was not even meant for us. On top of that, they even told us that they were going to add additional charges to make the ramen spicy. By this time I decided to cancel the food and leave. The staff was quite friendly and apologetic through it all, but they did not seem knowledgeable of their own menu. Also, the wait was just too much. I understand that the Maple Grove location just opened, but there’s no excuse for an hour wait for two bowls of ramen—which one was made incorrect and the other...
Read moreSo excited that we had a Ramen restaurant in Maple Grove! So we went there. Did not realize that it had been open less than two weeks. When we arrived it was really hot and stuffy in there. Too many people for small place or air con not working, really not sure. But it was full. Workers were friendly and sat us at the bar/counter. Kind of strange as there is a big wall in front of you - not really a bar at all. We ordered our meal from a nice waitress that could not answer my question in the differences between two ramen bowls and then waited. The couple next to us, and most of the restaurant had no food. We waited and waited. Finally, the couple next to us, that was getting really upset, got one ramen dish. The other was nowhere to be seen. So they shared it and told the wait staff to forget the second one as they were leaving - it took too long. They announced to us that this was a chain and they loved the flavor, but this one was too disorganized. We waited more. Finally, my Crispy Chicken Ramen came and looked and tasted great. My husband's Char Siu Ramen came a few minutes later and also had great flavor. Thought we would return there, but for whatever reason, the meal did not settle well with me once I got home, so I do not thing I will return. Not sure...

When asked about beer selection he pointed to the beer bottles way across the restaurant, sure they just got their license but there are like 6 different choices, either memorize it or get a temporary list. Then we asked for extra broth after the bowls we had hardly had any and what we got was cloudy water. It destroyed the taste of the bowl we had. The server asked us what we wanted instead of apologizing and offering a solution. He was clueless so we got up to pay for what we did eat and drink. Then the server got upset when we told him we were not going to pay for what we didn't eat. A manager came out and corrected things. Tried to make it right by paying for another meal in the future but I'm done. If you want actual ramen go to Ramen Kazama. I'm disappointed because I was excited to have a ramen shop in the NW Metro. I don't know maybe I'm spoiled after living in Japan...
It's an ok place for ramen, while it's not my favorite in MN it is certainly nice to finally have ramen in Maple Grove. They do a ok job imitating a Japanese ramen shop even though it's not owned by Japanese. Service is good, hope they get their liquor license soon with some Japanese...
