Don't pay 3 bucks for the carousel, waste of money. All the horses had a 100 lbs limited. The employee started the ride when I was putting my baby on the horse, then during the middle of the ride, she come out yelling at us to get off the horse during the ride because there was a 100 lbs limited that inform us or see. Employee was rude to us, I request a refund and to speak with the manager, she was rude and refused, when I started to record the accident she stop talking.
Maplewood mall needs to close it down because of safety concerns, they should inform us before when they started the ride, we would of left.
The employee put us at risk and we couldn't even enjoy the ride.
She wouldn't refund my money n stop the ride early and than offer a new customer 3 free rides, wow.
I'm forwarding my video to attorney General and hope that Maplewood Mall take safety concerns into hand. The employee said she will not refund me because I didn't not read the policy on the windows, 1st off as an employee you should info us and not scams people's also start a ride without checking on the customer so no one will get hurt, instead of coming out of the booth during the ride yelling us to get down during the ride.
I would of post the video on here but it didn't allow me too so I screen shot the employee.
The things that also got me mad too, was she said parents doesn't need to be on the carousel because we are adults...
Read moreYou may have heard some people say some not so good things about Maplewood mall, but that just means the new direction that the mall is going towards doesn't serve their needs. The mall is currently going through a transition, one in which in a lot of malls are struggling to identify, but for Maplewood mall it's trying to serve its diverse demographic that comes through their door.
Most recently one of the anchors of the mall closed, Macy's, of which was swept up by a local business man that is in the process of developing what they envision as the "Pan Asian Center". It's already open if you want to check it out although keep your expectations in check as the space is still barebones. It has a lot of potential and I'm hopeful.
As for other parts of the mall, there are non-traditional mall shops that are replacing common mall shops. These new shops I imagine will better serve the community and the malls new direction, but we'll see?
Maplewood mall also occasionally hosts arts and crafts fair for small business vendor to showcase their goods like custom nails, trading cards, bracelets, and other crafts.
Maplewood mall is no longer your typical American wall, but is transforming into a melting pot that's reflective of the community. It still has anchors like Kohl's and JC Penney to serve those who prefers them, but honestly the direction will continue to pull elsewhere...

We had the opportunity to test out a location at Maplewood Mall and were welcomed by an amazing community. The deal was appealingâ$230 for the first month and $300 per month afterâwhich made it a great way to try out a new retail space. Unfortunately, the mall traffic wasnât high enough to sustain our business, and we ultimately lost money trying to make it work.
Despite our best efforts to stay, we had to decline an offer for free rent from Ben Hamad of Brookwood Capital Advisors. After declining, things took a turnâBen became hostile, repeatedly harassed us over payment, and when I went to retrieve my belongings, I found that all of my equipment had been taken without notice.
While the mall itself provided a great learning experience, I strongly caution anyone considering this space. If you sign, make sure youâre fully prepared for any setbacksâbecause if you donât align with Benâs plans, he can become extremely unprofessional. We later learned we werenât the only tenants to have experienced this treatment.
If youâre thinking about trying out a space here, I highly recommend doing a short-term lease first before...
