āāāāā (1 Star) Deplorable Customer Service by Charles ā Completely Unacceptable
My name is Salvatore, and Iām from the Jersey Shore with 35 years of experience in customer service and Contacting. I have never felt so disrespected or uncomfortable as I did today at Margate Value Pawn. I walked in shortly before closing with over 100 Ryobi tools, as Iām upgrading everything to Milwaukee. I had two batteries with me and simply asked Charles for a price evaluation while I went back home (15 minutes away) to get the chargers.
Instead of trying to work with me or treat me like a valued customer, Charles rudely interrupted me and flat out refusedātelling me, āThis is how Iām going to do it,ā in the most dismissive and unprofessional tone imaginable. I had just spent 10 minutes loading everything myself, and no one offered to help. I wasnāt trying to sell junkāI brought in serious merchandise and came in with a respectful attitude.
I rarely leave negative reviews. I usually praise businesses and have written many 5-star reviews. But this was one of the worst customer service experiences Iāve ever had. Charles made me feel completely disrespected and dismissed. He should not be dealing with customers in any professional setting. If this is how Margate Value Pawn does business, I will not be returningāand I advise others to think twice.

The guy who initially sold me the PS4 was great help, (awesome dude) now i bought the PS4 three days ago, and I've already went threw 3 controller from their pawn shop. First controller worked with the PS4 seemed fine until I went back and exchanged the controller cause the buttons kept sticking, now I'm on the second controller and it will not sync to the console. Great went online and tried doing all the trick it told me to do, nothing worked. Okay so I called the pawn shop, at 6:50 telling them the situation asking them to stay open 5 mins late so I could run by and exchange it out again. The guy on the phone was rude as hell, and told me "we don't stay open for any customers". What kind of store wants to push business away from them? A Horrible runned store is what it is. I made it to the store in time regardless and exchanged the controller why the rude associate kept giving me dirty looks. (They didn't even let me in the store, greeted me by the door and swapped controllers. Rude! They still even had other customers in the store. I got there by 7:02 and they close at 7) point of the store is the controller I exchanged still didn't work with the PS4 and the customer serivce was horrible. I'm glad I bought the warranty there so now I get my full refund. Will never...

Out of all the many different pawn shops I've been to, hands down this specific value pawn has the best service a pawn shop could have!!! I'm mostly satisfied with the pawn brokers who work here. Everyone is nice and they do what they can constantly to provide the best experience/service, but out of them all, my FAVORITE broker is Thomas Pettas! He goes above and beyond my expectations on a regular basis, and I haven't ever had a singular problem or question that couldn't be solved to my liking. Besides him there are great brokers like Tony, and Fabian who provide spectacular service but basically they are all amazing! Oh and the manager Carlos is extremely kind and efficient! When there are problems of any sort, they quickly turn into solutions. Seriously, hands down, I can't imagine a better way to manage a pawn shop! I'm coming here for life! I just wish I knew how great this specific value pawn is soooooo...
