I would have given Lizzy's a 5-star rating, but for one thing - staff was not all masked. We have been fans of Lizzy's for some years, and have purchased jewelry from them in the past, but hadn't been in to shop with them since they moved the original shop to a new location, and added a branch in Arlington. We checked their website, found that they said they were following COVID masking guidelines (we are both in our 70's and have health issues) for customers and staff. Since the new Arlington location was closest to us, we decided to take a collection of silverware and some jewelry to them to see about selling it.
As soon as we walked in the door, we noticed that NONE of the staff was wearing masks, and then one of them beckoned us and said, scornfully, that there was no need to bother with social distancing or any of that stuff. We left.
Because of our former good experiences with Lizzy's at their original location in Marysville, we decided to go ahead and see if things were better at their new Marysville location, where we hoped to encounter some of the very knowledgeable and helpful staff we'd dealt with before. We were reassured to find that all of the staff in the jewelry area were masked. Unfortunately, after we'd been there for awhile, my husband noticed that the staff at the gun counter were not wearing masks. I was already involved with the evaluation process in the jewelry area (separate from the gun area), so he decided not to interrupt. I did mention our disappointment with the Arlington shop, and was assured that they were not aware of their non-compliance, and that it would be addressed.
The new store is beautiful, and the staff (Ellie, a young man whose name I didn't catch, and one of the owners) was welcoming, polite, and, as it turned out, knowledgeable and efficient. They spent considerable time evaluating our items, answering questions and explaining their decisions, and made us what we felt like was a fair offer. We will definitely take our business...
Read moreI am at rock bottom and needed to sell my gold to help pay my family's bills and get some groceries. I found Lizzys online showing great reviews so I took my things there. Selling my precious things that held wonderful memories for me, and things I was going to leave my children, was the hardest thing I think I have had to do in my life so far. I lost my job and then my dad lost his job and had to have his hip replaced. The medical bills took everything I had so selling my gold was the only option I had. I have applied for many jobs but none have worked out. I don't know the name of the young lady that helped me but she saw how hard this was for me and was so kind and understanding. She let me take my time as I was having a hard time setting it down but her kindness helped so much. They gave me enough to pay the rest of this months bills and get food for my family. Hopefully I won't have to sell gold again unless I want to and if I do I will for sure go back here. I'm am a firm believer that God will always provide and I believe he sent me here for a reason. I could have picked other places that were close but something just told me this was the right place! And it was. LIZZY'S IS THE BEST PLACE TO GO, NOT JUST FOR GOLD BUT THEY HAVE BEAUTIFUL INVENTORY! From jewelery to coins and collectibles they have a little bit of everything. It's a Great place to sell, buy gifts for friends and family, or to treat yourself to something nice., Lizzy's is for sure the place to go.!!!! Thank you so much for helping me through this sell your kindness and caring was...
Read moreDon't try to sell your jewelry here, they do not give you a fair value for your pieces even if you have an appraisal/and or receipt of when you've purchased. I'd reccomend selling on Facebook market or offer up, or even an online outlet that knows how to look at gemstones/diamonds. Don't have high hopes. But! They do have great customer service and you can find some nice pieces, but I wouldn't say the price is LOWER than a big box traditional jewelry store that would warranty your pice. I found the same ring from Kay's for the same exact price here at a pawn shop..... so I wouldn't say you'd score a DEAL here. I shop at Kay's, Zale's, Jared's and Ben Bridge, and I wouldn't say Lizzy's has any killer deals that really lives up to its reputation. They have unique pieces, I'd give them that. But the lack of extended warranties and repairs you'll need... especially on USED pieces of jewelry, it'll cost you a pretty penny to repair. You're better off going to a reputable jewelry store that will take care of your pieces free of charge for life, most jewelry stores will do that. Also the pieces I really liked ended up being CZ'S (the lady diamond tested them and they weren't positive). And she still wouldn't lower the price eventhough the first price was...
