A couple years ago I attended Stautzenberger for I.T. because they had a program that was exactly what I wanted to do. I was an all A and B student. At times this place was very unprofessional.
There was one instance where an instructor was fired right before my class and she walked in at the beginning of class for a few seconds while crying then was escorted out. This cause a lot of confusion for the class being it was the middle of the quarter. Rumor had it that a student failed to attend class multiple times and the instructor that was fired was told she needed to change his grade to pass and she refused.
The next instance was when I was in an entry level psychology class and there was a student that had no business being in college(no offense to the kid). We had to read parts of the book aloud to the rest of the class and he severly struggled with this while the group of girls behind him mocked him. Nothing was done to the girls. The kid probably had some mental issues but how he was cleared to attend college is beyond me. Basically the school probably got free money from the kid as it seems he probably had some financial assistance. Not to mention, he attended the following quarter as well, even though it was clear he should not have been there.
In the IT program we had an amazing instructor to begin with. Very helpful and informative. He ended up leaving, i am unsure why. We then had to wait for a qualified instuctor to take his place, which held us up on taking classes at the time. We finally got an instructor and he was not qualified in our exact field, so he was learning with the students as we went through the book.
If you are looking for an expensive 2 year college, this is it. Granted it is a private college but from start to finish in a program it is around $30,000. Not to mention all programs except for a few are 100% online courses. So if your not into that, then good luck.
Just recently I went back to Stautzenberger to see about finishing my degree in business instead of IT. Well what do you know they completely changed the entire structure of the business program along with discontinuing the IT program. Only about 2 or 3 of my classes will transfer to the business program. Not to mention that I took about 4 business classes that will not transfer into the business program.
Stautzenberger was the most expensive mistake I have ever made and I am trying to keep you from doing the same. They recently switched from quarters to terms. So for 5 weeks they cram in 2 classes then the next 5 weeks you do 2 more classes. This seems a bit ridiculous and like they are trying to cut down on staff because for your program you can only do those 2 classes as you fit into a class rotation. If you already took the class, then you sit out that term. This combined with all online courses while charging you $30,000 is a bit of a joke. Also I just spoke with Owens Community College and it seems they will transfer more credits than Stautzenberger to...
Read moreI enjoyed the women I have met at Stautzenberger College, I attended 2020,2021,2022 I withdrawn twice for personal reasons so I came back 2022 to really lock down on my nursing career. I was passing all my classes up until the week before finals.. The communication among the staff is horrible, our med surg teacher prep us for our proctor we was taking week 6 and she gave us things to study for med surg. She didn’t know that we were actually taking an Fundamentals proctor which we had this course the previous term.. so the proctor exam is a huge part of our med surg grade which not many students pass maybe 1:5 in each term if that … I missed my first class since the term started which happened to fall on the day of the proctor retake so basically the grade we had when we first took it don’t count towards nothing if you don’t score high the first time they make you do all these focus reviews for it then retake it the week before finals cool! So I learned I had to retake my med surg class because it dropped me from an 87 to a 57 for missing the proctor retake even after I had my focus reviews and all my work up to date still didn’t help. So I was confident going back to school to retake the course just to find out I was dismissed because they counted the first two times that I withdrawn as an attempt of the class even though I didn’t finish the term then so since I actually failed this time they kicked me out the program but just the past week I met up with the counselor, the Director of the nursing program and a instructor not once was this mention about me being dismissed from the program nor did I have a talk with an counselor before the term started to tell me where I should be academic wise to lead me in a successful direction for the term. We didn’t really use to much of nothing we did in lab because the clinical site didn’t offer anything besides basic patient care and we are in Med surg 1 and pharm 2 so we should b progressing within nursing things. Make sure you ask the nclex passing rate when looking into schooling. The rate here isn’t that high, most of the girls failed that...
Read moreI am completing my first class in the paralegal diploma program at Stautzenberger College, Maumee campus. My background includes a doctorate degree from Purdue University in Medicinal Chemistry and Pharmacognosy, 10+ year as a registered pharmacist in the states of Ohio and Michigan, and teaching for 2 years as an assistant professor in the department of Pharmacology at the University of Toledo. I have never experienced the online learning experience but I am now a fan especially if taken from Stautzenberger College. My advisor Dena Marvin is wonderful and I give Judy Harrison many kudos for making the murky area of financial aid easy to understand. The student services at the campus is simply amazing and very supportive (shout out and fist bump to Abigail and Brittany!). My instructor, Patty Humbert, is also amazing and very supportive. She has incredible knowledge and I have learned sooooooo much about law. Also, the librarian, Lori, staffs the most amazing library. I am a certified book and research hound and I have been blown away by the library that she runs and resources available for bibliographical research. The walls along the Maumee campus are peppered with the most inspirational posters and sayings that are constantly updated. There were a few moments that I thought about giving up but then I read some of the posters and became re-energized. Great job Stautzenberger College. Keep up the good work!
Quote from one of the posters hanging on the wall on the Maumee campus: Journey You measure the size of the accomplishment by the obstacles that you had to overcome to...
