They taste OK but they're not worth the $2.50+/ea. and very "thrown together". I do like how they're a la carte and you can choose a variety. I enjoyed the decor inside and the layout of the seating, counter area. With that being said... I ordered:
1 Fried Chicken Taco- I got 2 tiny chicken "chunks" in my tacos 1 Grilled Fish Taco- Decent amount of fish. I had HUGE pieces of red cabbage in my tacos. I love red cabbage but these chunks were the size of my thumb or bigger. 1 Grilled Shrimp Taco- it was okay. Sauce was good. Again, huge chunks of red cabbage. A queso & chips- that was OK but I was disappointed at the small portion of cheese for the price. I told the employee it was my first time there and he did mention that I get a choice of taco shell- corn or flour I think? But then I never specified as I was busy picking my tacos.. I forgot about it, so when I got back to work, I realized he chose corn for me. Wouldn't have been my choice, and they were not toasted or warm, they were just cold. I spent $11 and I just want my...
Read moreI would have to agree with the other reviewer from today. I feel like my chicken fajita taboos were lacking. Not much flavor. Ned other filings to fill out the tacos. The Baja shrimp taco sauce was really good, but again need more to fill the taco than what comes on them. More veggies or cheese on the right ones. Nor sure if sour cream and fixins are available or not. Service was good for opening day. Will probably give it another shot, but was hoping for better.
UPDATE: Went again on 5/15/2018 to give it another go and asked about extras. Was told it would be extra cost to add a little cheese and sour cream to the taco. Would think that for the price of the tacos as they are that they could throw in a couple extras. 60 cents per taco extra is ridiculous. It was already 11 bucks for 2 tacos, chips and queso, and a drink. The baja shrimp taco was still good, however the extras would help fill in the taco a little more. ...
Read moreThis is one of those "do one thing and do it well" places, it's tacos and chips (and margaritas, but I don't go out to drink) and R Taco does them well. The tacos are more traditional "street" style and they're really great and what you would expect for that style, served with a lime wedge (like god intended). They aren't THAT expensive like people have said. My wife got two tacos, I got two tacos, my toddler son got the chicken and potatoes and we got chips, salsa and two drinks for under $20. That's not expensive, this isn't Taco Bell.
Everything was tasty, everyone was nice. The only bad things I can name are pithy and nitpicky and not worth mentioning. We got a churro on the way out, my wife didn't like it but that's only because it was filled with dulce de leche (the menu doesn't say that) and she dislikes filled churros. I thought it was great though (I do like filled churros). We will certainly be...
