First, upon checking in, I had one of 3 rooms under my school's athletic director. One of the other parties had their room, was checked in, and everything was fine. But something wasn't set up with my room. The lady wouldn't complete my check in. The coworker showed her paperwork in a binder and said I should be all set, but should still wouldn't complete the check in. After helping another guest, the athletic director was present to straighten it out. However, she took care of every other guest in the lobby before coming back to me even though we were standing AT the counter. Second, your King "suite" is not a suite. My family needed a suite so my disabled wife could nap in privacy while the rest of the family could be in the room. Since your "suite" is only separated by half a wall, the rest of the family had to leave the room or sit in the dark & quiet while she napped. Third, the toilet was clogged. Normally I would say that it happens and move on but I was the third person in my group that had an issue with the toilet causing the need for a new room. Fourth, we the lady came up from the front desk and she plunged the toilet splashing some "dirty" water on the floor, she told me to change rooms. With my disabled wife in bead and the room set up for our liking at 10pm at night, I said I wasn't interested in changing rooms because of the huge hassle. When I told her she'll need to call whomever to get it fixed, she said no and walked out. She just walked out in the middle of the conversation accusing me of being rude even though I was not being rude, I just didn't want to change rooms over the next couple hours. She called the room about 15 minutes later and apologized and gave me multiple excuses for her behavior ranging from being sick, recovering from knee replacement, to improper staffing by the hotel. About 15 minutes later, I agreed to change rooms because my wife NEEDED a working toilet. The new room however was a double queen with even less privacy and less places to sit. Fifth, the pool area was repeatedly out of clean towels at different times of the day. Sixth, the front desk was repeatedly unattended because they were busy helping in other parts of the hotel. And seventh, the internet repeatedly was disconnecting our devices and requiring us to reconnect. This happened dozens of times for multiple devices. What a horrible stay. I was very...
Read moreThe front desk staff seemed less than enthused to be working...when you could locate them. I waited at the front desk so long for someone to help me (twice), that I had to use the courtesy phone in the lobby to find someone. They were apparently just on the other side of the office door (which had a sign 'do not knock'). Why have cameras aimed at the front desk if no one is going to monitor them? My first visit to the front desk was because we only had 3 pillows for our King Executive Suite (certainly not what is pictured on the website). The process of waiting for someone to appear at the front desk and then for them to find extra bed pillows took over 15 minutes and I was the only customer in the lobby. The second time I had to visit the front desk was to ask for sheets. The bag with the sofa bed linens contained a comforter and only pillow cases (7 to be exact) and no sheets or a pillow (for the 7 pillow cases). When I opened up the sleeper sofa, there were massive stains on the mattress as well as food that flung out when I opened it. Needless to say I wasn't feeling very confident in the Marriott "commitment to clean" as advertised. The king size bed was absolutely the worst I've ever slept on at a Marriott property. The mattress had such a large dip in the center that I had to prop pillows against my back to keep from rolling into the center of the bed so that my husband had room to sleep. We are not large people, but like the spaciousness of a king bed. Thus I used the sofa bed in order to attempt to get some sleep. This is unacceptable, especially for a rewards member paying for a King Executive Suite. I think you may want to change your slogan: "At the Fairfield Inn & Suites Toledo Maumee, you're our #1 priority. We promise you'll be satisfied, or we'll make it right." We most certainly did not feel like a priority and were not satisfied. We will not be returning to...
Read moreI had pre-booked this hotel along our cross country journey. We booked all hotels that had a breakfast and pool/hot tub because we knew we would need it with our travels. Upon arriving to the hotel, the front desk person said they did not have a hot tub, which I thought she was misunderstanding what I was saying. I went to the pool room and there was caution tape all over where a hot tub would’ve been. When I had called to confirm my reservation weeks ago they said they had a hot tub. When we arrived, there was no hot tub available. That information was never transferred to us over the weeks and so we paid for a hotel that did not have the amenities that they said they had. It was a huge disappointment! |When I did go into the pool room, the chemicals were so strong. It took our breath away, our son started coughing, and our eyes were watering. We never entered the pool because we’re actually nervous at how high the chlorine levels were just entering the facilities. We brought this to the attention of the front desk, worker and she agreed and said we should stay away for at least an hour. We never did enter the pool for the fear of how high the chemicals might’ve been.|During the breakfast the next morning, we went down around 8 o’clock, which means breakfast had already been going for a while and still had a while to go. We had to ask for the creamers and the staff member acted like they didn’t know about any creamers. We had told them that we had saw them yesterday because we had used them when we arrived. Then they magically appeared. They were not restocking the items so it was slim pickings, even though there was more time left in...
