We checked in on a Friday night. That evening we noticed the toilet was not flushing well. By morning time, it was not flushing at all and was becoming clogged with toilet paper and urine. Thankfully nothing else!! In the morning, I called the desk numerous times with no answer. I then went to the front desk at 7am and was told someone would be up there that morning to address the issue. I told the receptionist we would be out for most of the day and she assured us someone would be in while we were gone. We returned to our hotel room around dinner time and no one had been in to address the clogged toilet. I called the desk and was told by the receptionist maintenance had left for the day. She offered no other resolution. I sat there waiting to see what she would offer to help us out and she said “I don’t know what to tell you”. I told her I had talked to someone that morning and was promised that they would be in to fix the problem. She said, well I don’t see that you called and I don’t see any notes on it here. This frustrated me as there would be no reason I would lie about calling or reporting the issue on the clogged or broken toilet-nor was her looking for a note going to fix the problem. I said, we need a functioning toilet and she said I have nothing to offer. I had to ask her if there was a plunger in the hotel and asked that perhaps someone could at least try that. She put me on hold and said “yah we have one, I’ll bring it to you”. So, I plunged our toilet at the Marriott. First and last time, I will be staying here. While plunging did help to get the toilet paper down, there was definitely something wrong with the plumbing as it continued to need to be plunged in order to flush. When we checked out, I reiterated to the receptionist the issue and said they should avoid putting another family in that room until it was resolved. She apologized for the issue and credited us $50 when I told her how bad the customer service had been. I’m really disappointed in this stay. We travel to Toledo a lot and will be not...
Read moreI was very pleased with my recent stay at the Courtyard Toledo Maumee /Arrowhead. I like the Courtyard brand, however this one was exceptional! The staff was friendly and the lobby was clean and stylish.
I was actually going to a concert in Detroit but decided to stay in Toledo instead. I'm glad I did! The hotel was as nice as (if not nicer) and it allowed me to be one hour closer to home when I began my trip back the next day.
The decor in my room was beautiful. I was immediately impressed with how many outlets /USB ports there were. My family has all sorts of electronics and many times there is a fight to use the plugs. There would be no fight in this room. The bathroom (as was the entire room) was clean which is always important to me. There was a refrigerator which was also a plus. I travel alot and sometimes hotels don't have them in the room.
I was glad they had the treadmill that I normally use at my gym which meant that I didn't have to actually go to the gym that morning to work out. The fitness room was clean also.
I didn't eat at the restaurant because I was having breakfast with family at Cracker Barrel which was less than five minutes down the street. That's another plus for this location. There were so many restaurants immediately available and a grocery store about five minutes away.
If you're planning a trip to Toledo /Maumee, I definitely...
Read moreI stayed at this location for 3 weeks straight on a work trip.. . in that time I wasn't woken up by the people next to my room or people gallivanting in the hallway 4 nights. The walls and ceiling for that matter are paper thin. Getting woken up at 4 am by what sounded like a XXX movie being made above me did not help my work day get off to a good start. It seemed almost every night there were drunk people celebrating in the hallway between 1:00 am - 4:00 am. The bathroom area of the hotel is EXTREMELY DATED, the rest of the room is very nice and modern. For instance Facing the sink is a closet with Gold Trimmed mirrored bi-fold doors... then you walk in the toilet/ Shower area and the shower is a Beige/bone color that is very off putting. On top of this the ceiling in the shower was incredibly short. I am only 6' but the shower base was so tall it seemed like I was in a very small shower. Also, the place had no vending machines so you have to purchase drinks from their Ala carte system... for 2 20 oz bottles of pop it was 7.00$ what a rip! Not to say I expect a discount or free things but I am staying at a place for 3 solid weeks and your gonna charge me 7...
