I had a terrible experience this afternoon at Smith and Wolensky, I give -1000 stars if I could.

The issue started when I made a reservation to sit outside for my birthday and we had to wait 45+ to get a table. After that, it was a horror show sequence where our German waitress (blonde blue eyes that was so disrespectful and it was mocking my husband with ridiculous jokes making us uncomfortable from the moment we sat down) didn’t even bring plates for us to eat the bread they serve and we asked several times for it. After that a simple bottle of wine took more than half an hour to come to the table plus the insane amount of time for the food as well. We were sitting under a tree and there was pigeons everywhere eating from their trays with leftover food and also pooping in several tables and customers, but that’s not even the worse part since after one of these pigeons popped ALL over our table, they brought our desert that took 20+ minutes, and placed ON TOP OF THE FECES ON THE TABLE!!!!!! To top that, they also dropped a whole tray of champagne and other drinks on top of me and left me soaking wet (there was 6+ cups that were dropped all over me). The lack of urgency of the situation made it worse and instead of acting fast and assist us they still took several minutes to assist us and bring the bill and kept justifying their unjustifiable behavior and actions. They ruined my birthday lunch that took 4+ hours to end because oft he absurd amount of time they took, plus the TERRIBLE service from the waitress, manager and staff all together today 10/20/2024. The lack of respect of the waitress after everything to even come to me and approach me and touch my shoulders without my consent as if she knew me personally invading my privacy and making fun and laughing of the situation as if it was something funny that was happening instead of assisting us professionally left me speechless.

I’ve been so many times to this restaurant before and took so many friends and family there but I will NEVERRRR comeback again after this horrific and traumatizing sequence of events.

I will never forget how they placed the plates on top of bird feces spread out on the table towel without cleaning!!!!!!! We ended up not eating anything from the deserts we ordered and they only cleaned the table and changed the table towel after we left.

I hope everyone that sees this review think about other options in Miami before going there. The disrespect, lack of urgency and the mocking tone of the horrendous waitress that “assisted us” its just not worth your money. Don’t waist a special moment like I did on this...

Memorable Dining Experience at Smith & Wollensky in Miami Beach

Bottom Line Up Front (BLUF): Attentive and personable service (especially from Yumi, Ronald, and Reza), delicious cuisine, and pleasant outdoor waterfront setting.

We arrived at Smith & Wollensky with a desire to sit outside. Earlier in the week, we had called to inquire about reserving an outdoor table but were informed that those tables are first-come, first-served. However, we could indicate our preference upon arrival, and the host, Reza, kindly added our name to the outdoor dining list when we checked in for our reservation. While we waited for our table, we enjoyed a refreshing pre-dinner beverage at the spacious outdoor bar. Our table was ready approximately 30 minutes later, which I thought was quite reasonable given that it was 7 PM on a beautiful Friday night.

Once seated, our servers, Yumi and Ronald, were incredibly pleasant and engaging. They were also exceptionally knowledgeable about the menu. We started our meal with the seafood tower for two, which was a delightful choice. When it came time to select our entrées, we sought their recommendations. With so many enticing options available, Yumi provided insightful descriptions and guided us to the most delicious ribeye I have ever tasted. She also helped us choose our sides, which included creamed spinach, whipped potatoes, mushrooms, and macaroni and cheese.

Having recently sworn off mac and cheese after disappointing experiences at other steakhouses, I was hesitant. However, Yumi's enticing description persuaded me to give Smith & Wollensky's version a chance, and I am so grateful I did. It was absolutely delectable—so much so that I have been scouring the internet for copycat recipes ever since!

To top off our special occasion, Smith & Wollensky graciously surprised us with a complimentary slice of their signature chocolate cake, which was a lovely touch.

In summary, Smith & Wollensky in Miami Beach is now my favorite steakhouse in South Florida. The food was mouthwatering, and the exceptional service provided by Yumi, Ronald, and Reza truly made our evening...
