What an awful experience. I was going to purchase a safe this evening. I told an attendant I wanted the safe they had to find someone to get it. Told them I would do some more shopping as my son was using the 50$ gift card I got him too. Half an hour later I checked again and no one was even tending to getting the safe brought up. Gave them another 15+ minutes and had my son go through line to purchase his walkie talkies that he picked out. Still no one had managed to find the key or have anyone come to the front to help. they opened other lines and the people who been waiting in line for a half hour as well weren't giving the first slot and just let anyone get in line. after my son purchased his items I told who I expect as the manager he was the only adult there that it was a shame that I couldn't even purchase this safe and had to wait 45 minutes. His only response was that he was sorry it's been a crazy day. I also was going to buy purchase a Glock from here in fact the Glock 22 I was looking at when I went back to look at him I had to wait 10 minutes for the clerk's to stop flirting with the little girl before they would attend to me. I chose to look around and check prices to see if I can find somewhere better to spend my money with. Is a very sad situation and a huge waste of my day my personal time. Very upset I used to boast about academy I won't be doing that anymore. it's my personal opinion that I need to get some kind of discount for products as well if I'm to come back and actually purchase something I would like to be compensated. however I assume there's no chance that anyone from the company will be getting in touch with me or trying to rectify the situation. Read moreI placed an order online for 3 items. The next day I got a notice that one of the items was unavailable. I looked online and found a replacement. I called them and asked if the order had been shipped yet. I was told no. I asked if they could include the replacement item. I was told no, once an order has been placed it cannot be changed. I explained they changed the order because 1 item was no longer available and I only wanted to use a replacement. They said no you will have to place an additional order and pay additional shipping. Not satisfied customer. A day later I tried to order a replacement for the cancelled item and pick it up at store. Next day notified that item was no longer available. Two days later I stopped at the store. Found a replacement and took it to the register where I was being charged $34.00. I explained no where did I see the price say $34. The same shoe in blue was marked $20. and red did not have a listed price. I said I did not want for $34. The blue did not have the size I needed. I also had a item on a sale rack that said take an additional 25% off lowest price. After I paid I realized I wasn’t given the extra 25% off. I asked the clerk and was told too late. Read moreCustomer service is terrible at this store. I went to this store on a Sat afternoon to purchase a firearm. Saw one guy behind the firearms counter, sitting on this desk & staring at his computer screen. I say staring, because it didn’t seem like he was doing a transaction or looking up information for a customer, I think he was just browsing the web. I noticed two other groups of customers checking out firearms for some time & then leaving. At no time did this guy tried to get up or engage these customers if they wanted any help. After waiting for 10-15 min, I go up to the guy & ask him about a firearm I am interested to buy. He response is something like this “it’s in the bottom right side of that shelf”! No attempt to show me the firearm or engage any further. Well I just thanked him & left the store in disgust. He just lost an opportunity to make a sale & the store lost my business. I will buy from a local gun shop with decent customer service, even if I have to pay a slightly higher price. Does Academy pay its employees to sit all day!!
