My review is a bit late as I haven't been to the Gahanna Marshall's since earlier this year, but I wanted to write a review on the excellent service I received both over the phone and while in the store. I live quite far from this store (Northern Ohio) and actually found a specific coat I wanted at another Marshall's (in Michigan!) and I absolutely HAD to have this coat. However, they didn't have my size UGH!!! Anyway, the next day I sat down and actually called various stores in both Michigan AND Ohio and after calls to about 20 different Marshall's stores, I found it in Gahanna! I am familiar with the Columbus area, and luckily had a number of days off work so I could go get it.
My calling frenzy to all the stores made me realize that many of Marshall's employees at the various stores are helpful (albeit some more than others) haha. But the lady at the Gahanna store really took her time to look (which those of us who have ever embarked down a rabbit hole like this KNOW is just luck!) She even told me her own story of hunting for something and driving to Kentucky to get it. Her story made me feel less nutty for going to these lengths myself.
After all this I'm sorry to say I do not remember her name - but I won't forget her anytime soon. Only a fellow, very picky woman would understand! In fact, when she came back on the phone after she looked for the coat she practically screamed "I got it! I found it!" SHE was actually excited FOR ME - haha! I knew it was the right coat because I wrote down the ticket numbers from the coat at the Michigan Marshall's, along with describing it in detail.
And yes, before I bothered with all this I DID look online EVERYWHERE for the coat and it was either sold out or again, not the right size. It was a Winter coat and this was February so obviously the end of the season (according to designers, buyers, and stores anyway - insert eyeroll).
THEN, while in the store, a male employee actually OFFERED to try something on for me that I was looking to buy for a friend (for sizing obviously.) Wow...what a day of fabulous service I received!
The store itself seemed neat, organized, and very well stocked, and I left with other great finds and gifts for various people.
These two incredibly kind employees may not even work there anymore, but they will definitely do well in the future in whatever they do with such great attitudes.
Sorry for the long review but even if the story isn't so exciting, I think it's a good account that proves there ARE still employees in the retail industry who actually care about their customer's happiness and satisfaction. As a frequent shopper of Marshall's, TJs, and Homegoods, I am so...

After getting a table I found these rattan candle holders in clearance that had been marked down. One was one of a kind and the other there were a couple left so I grabbed one. The one of a kind item when I went up to the desk to check out, an older associate with short hair and glasses immediately told me the price was wrong. I wasn’t sure what the correct price was I was going off of the tag they had on the actual product. The woman disappeared for about 10 minutes and when she came back said this item is $29 and that the staff prices it incorrectly. The price on the item was $12. I didn’t argue because it’s not earth shattering by any means but I found it odd that the second I went to purchase they changed their pricing and didn’t honor the price they had labeled the item. It made me feel uncomfortable as if I was doing something wrong when simply i just found this item marked. The sticker was firmly placed on the label so it didn’t seem like someone switched anything, but it still made me feel like they were accusing me of pricing something incorrectly when I have no control over their prices. I ended up leaving those items and will not be purchasing clearance anymore. Please check your prices so it doesn’t make such an issue when a customer wants to purchase an item. I had no idea and if anything it was really off putting to be looked at like I was the one in the wrong when simply I wanted to purchase a sale item. I ended up going to Hobby lobby instead and found a huge selection, everything priced appropriately and I was not given any disgusted looks when I paid at the cashier. Not impressed...
Read moreTonight 3/2/23 8-9pm I went into the store after having a really long week and wanting to get some new things for my bedroom. As I was shopping and browsing a young man who was putting return items away almost ran into me. I knew it was an accident and didn't think much of it so I kept walking(he didn't apologize). Later at the end of my shopping I stopped in the kitchen area and there the same young man was but he was blocking the entire isle. He looked up at me and didn't move. I said excuse me and he said OK but didn't move again. So I ask if he could let me pass and he finally moved the cart. I was thinking 🤔 why would a worker be so rude? Well I started looking at the plastic storage bins and when I turned around my shopping cart was gone. I mean gone! I looked like did it roll? But no way...he took it. I looked where he was and he left his cart dowe still blocking the isle and really took my cart. It wasn't no accident so I went and got a elderly woman worker to help me and she said he didn't take it on purpose I said mam he did. My expinsive Starbucks cup and newly purchased coffee was in that cart totally worth $30 or more. I forgot how much I paid for my cup but it's also irreplaceable! It's not being made anymore. I asked the lady if she was going to find the guy and she called the walky talky and found the guy. He said he put all the items away and he didn't have my cart even though he just walked away from me. The lady said that's too bad and was so rude. I will never come here again and that young man...
