We dined here on 5/29/24 and while the seafood boil was ok, the whitting fish basket and wings (my mistake for ordering chicken at a seafood place) were horrible. The chicken had clearly been over cooked as the meat was gray in color, which indicates that it is bad! The fish smelled horrible and was also not cooked well. By the time the gentleman returned to my table to check on us I determined I did not want anything else out of the kitchen. The icing on the cake was the bill, particularly the gratuity portion of the bill where to the math was not ā€œmathing.ā€ Needless to say I will not be returning and caution anyone who dines here to be mindful of the lack of freshness of the food and the up charge on the bill. They have a hand written sign (not at eye level) that says please read our gratuity policy on your receipt but there is not one! So diner beware!

By the sound of things in the internet, we thought we’d better make reservations for a Friday evening dinner. When we arrived, the place was far from full. But, I’m not sure why. Our experience was very good. The server was great. The food was delicious. I’m not fond of having to work so hard to get to the crab meat, but hey, it is what it is. We got the low country boil. The first combo on the menu. There is a lot of food. You get to choose different sauces for flavor. Our server suggested getting the sauce on the side rather than having it boiled in the sauce just in case we didn’t care for the sauce. Well, I got the Pier 11 sauce medium and LOVED it. It’s not the kind of food you eat every day, or even every weekend, but I’m glad to know it’s there when I want it.

The boil bag was fantastic. Plenty of shrimp, corn was good, sausage was a little light but it was cheap so if you need more order a couple. The catfish? I can't say best I've ever had, but I'll admit I do not remember any better. Waitress was great, place was clean. Best part was the price was more than fair for what I got. What cost them two points was the automatic 18 percent tip on groups of 4 or more. I've seen it on parties of 8 or more, but never on groups of four. Once you auto charge me, you get what you took. In this case I was planning on giving him 20 percent, as he did a good job, so it ended up costing him a couple bucks. I've never seen applied gratuity for 4, and it will directly impact my frequency of return visits.

The first associate was kind. But weird. I told her I wanted a pound of crab. She said, do you want to pay before or after? I said I can pay before but it’s going to be hard to tip you if I don’t know the service I’m receiving. I still tipped $10 For $32 of crabs. Then Once I paid, I asked, where is the restroom at so I can wash my hands to eat. She looked at me confused like you’re eating here? I’m thinking Shouldn’t you have asked me that before I ordered? I said yes? And explained that’s why I was confused about what I was going to tip because I don’t like tipping people unless I know what my service is going to be.

I tried sitting Alone On the other side of the room and a male I’m assuming is a manager said I can sit in the front row. Now there was already a couple on the other side sitting by themselves comfortably. I’m like, I don’t like sitting next to people.( I have anxiety and PTSD.) He said I’ll sit you were there aren’t any people. He sat me in the row that has the bathroom. And the same row I’m facing everyone who walks into the building asking for their orders. Any future customers were automatically sat down.

I feel ignored. When I tried asking for help after I ate to order more food, the girl who took orders at the front ignored me. And then there was another female Serving food, she passed me the first time. So then the next time I saw her I had to increase the volume in my voice, so I could be heard by Everyone in the room. Then she went to get the Associate who is at the front to place an additional order. She was kind, but I felt like it was forced.

After I finish eating, I spoke to the girl who is the associate at the front, and I said have a good evening. She just stared at me like she couldn’t hear me. I feel like if people are disabled working they need to inform people if they have hearing problems or learning disabilities if it’s not obvious. Because it’s hard to determine how to respond to people if you don’t know whether or not they are disabled or they’re being disrespectful.

I’m going to take it as although the first associate appeared to make mistake initially then transition to ignoring me as I left, as she’s just disrespectful. If she’s disabled and has a hearing problem, or a learning disability, where she’s not able to pay attention, I hope that possibly they worn customers so we know how to interact. Although I didn’t see her treating anyone else like she treated me so I’m not sure.

The food was great though! Although I didn’t feel wanted or welcomed as I ate. Very uncomfortable feeling. I...

I placed an order last night at 9:32 and went to pick up it up shortly before they closed; tired and hungry from work. I ordered Bay Scallops, Snow crab, and blue crab. The ā€œScallopsā€ they are serving are imitation Surimi Scallops which were rubbery, unseasoned, and CLEARLY imitation. Real Scallops are white and flaky when cooked; these were rubber balls. The quality of the crab was extremely poor and stringy which indicates it was frozen for a while and low quality before being cooked. My receipt said 80$ but I was charged 96$ on my card and when I asked for a Manager I was told he was the manager and he made exscuse that it was the ā€œbankā€. I work down the road in a restaurant and only ordered there because I’d been craving seafood so I’m FULLY aware that he was lying. He tried to add a 15$ tip onto my card assuming that I would not notice because most people don’t! Dishonorable business practices and low quality seafood. They keep saying that ā€œseafood is expensiveā€ but have the nerve to serve us LOW QUALITY, and some unauthentic seafood! I will take the extra 15 minute drive and stick to Cajun crab boil; where 70$ would have gotten us a heap of FRESH seafood but they would have been closed by the time I’d...

AVOID AVOID AVOID. I previously ate here and the food was fine. I decided to order uber eats last night and got a Po-boy and Fried Shrimp. I ate the shrimp first. It was fine, too soggy to be called ā€œfriedā€. My issue came when I ate the whiting po-boy. I bit into the sandwich and immediately knew something was off. First thing I noticed was the batter tasted like it was fried in old grease. The fries tasted the same and were inedible. I then took a 2nd bite of my po-boy and pulled out the brownish most slimey piece of lettuce that was well past expiration . You know when lettuce is well past expiration it becomes slimey and starts to brown. This was well past starting to brown and was clearly expired, yet they put that on a customers sandwich thinking they could pass it by. I instantly started throwing up and experiencing stomach pains. I’ll be contacting the board of health today. If they felt that comfortable giving me old brown expired lettuce who knows what else they’re doing to cut corners. I apologize I did not get a picture of the sandwich. I was so disgusted I just threw it all away. What a...
