My fiance had a last minute clothing emergency that resulted in our going to Macy's for both the rehearsal dinner and the ceremony itself for my sister's out of town wedding. We've all but become agoraphobic gremlins who don't know how to dress over these last couple of years so there was definitely some stress lol. Macy's absolutely had our needs covered, but this is only a tiny bit of a review for Macy's and mostly singing the praises of an employee that genuinely blew us away.
James Dixon is an absolute gem that provided a level of customer service I have rarely experienced but always strove for in my own work. He was the only person on the floor serving EVERY customer simultaneously while somehow making it feel like a higher end bespoke service. We heard other customers making positive comments about him. It all just seemed like his standard rather than an outlier. He took the time to explain not only fashion (thanks again dude you have great taste) but also various other things right down to how to get the most out of our points and how to make sure we didn't get stiffed any points. Who does that? Who is this man WHERE DID YOU FIND HIM, MACY'S?
Whatever Macy's is paying this man, it's not enough. When our dental clinic is ready to actually hire a team, we will absolutely be coming back with the express intention of stealing him if at all possible. It is what it is, Macy's. Part of me hopes you don't realize his worth so it's easier to convince him to come work with us, but a bigger part hopes you realize that you won the employee lottery because he's clearly a good person who genuinely wants to help procrastinating wedding guests in addition to melodramatic prom shoppers.
James, I know that you were exhausted but you hid it so well and you are so appreciated by your clients. You made my partner feel good in his own skin for the first time in years. We will definitely be back specifically for what you offer that online shopping cannot. I'm sorry for being a verbose creep and hope that this doesn't make you too uncomfortable. I have had to fight every step of the way with other doctors to get basic care for my covid-damaged heart these last couple of years and your attentiveness to making sure my better half was well taken care of just felt particularly impactful and I don't know how to thank you other than threatening your employer with intention to poach their star talent apparently.
I cannot helieve I just wrote a whole essay of a review for a Macy's, but I've never had a shopping experience like this one. Give this man a raise or some level of ownership or a puppy before someone else does because there's no way I am the only one of your shoppers that has wanted him for my own team and would be willing to pay through the nose for...
Read moreMy son wears a lot of Nike clothing and Macy's always has what he needs -- socks, pants, shirts, sweatshirts, etc. Sales associates will go out of the way to track down his size if they appear to be sold out of his size (sometimes customers stick clothing on racks that said items shouldn't be on). The prices are comparable to competitors too.
I also buy his dress clothing here since he has to dress up for sports. Associates take the time so that he has the appropriate sizes and pick out ties, etc. that make him look so nice! I cry seeing him all dressed up. They carry Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren, etc. I compared big box store dress clothes prices to when Macy's has sales and they're comparable. I would rather buy a quality brand than a big box store brand. There's a big difference in the fabrics for sure -- especially after washing them. I've experimented.
Around Christmas, they really go all out decorating one of the main entrances from the mall hallway. They have the famous believe sign, tons of raised Christmas trees, large hanging ornaments, etc. It's just very nice to see and sets the holiday shopping spirit. This store creates happy shopping memories for sure.
The only thing that is somewhat a negative is that I wish they had shopping bags/carts or something to put stuff in. When I buy tons of stuff before school starts, it's rather difficult lugging around numerous shirts, pants, t-shirts, etc. I've never bought stuff upstairs because it seems like it would be a hassle if I had to lug household goods down the escalator. I imagine they would sell more stuff if they had something customers could carry/put items in.
All in all -- this is a store that I spend most money at when it comes to clothing. I hope we never lose...
Read moreI went in to EXCHANGE some dress shirts that I received for Christmas. I had the receipt. Because I had seven shirts and you guys were busy, you insisted on doing a gift card. You then said that because my wife used the $70 Macy money that we had to pay it all back and took it out of the gift card. We were there to EXCHANGE the shirts, not ask for the money to be credited to the gift giver's account! On our previous visit, we brought a few ties. It shows all of them on the receipt. The sales associate had put the ties to the side while he rang up the shirts. He had a lot of clothing up on the counter and did not place the most expensive tie in the bag, a tie that was to go to my father-in-law for Christmas. When we got home my wife went through the bags so she could wrap them up for Christmas, she realized the tie for my father-in-law was not in the bag. We went back to the store and they claimed that they didn't have the tie. We came straight home from the store. The back of our car is empty. There is no where for it to have gone. You guys wouldn't even look for it. We will not be doing business with you again and I will happily share our experience...
