I regularly go for walks around the island & have enjoyed the residents I have met. The residences located here are decorated fabulously with various mason bee houses & birdfeeders. You can even see the rear of the Grain Belt Beer sign. If you are in the mood for an exciting escape from downtown living I suggest escaping to this island where one gets whisked away to another dimension with a focus on nature, not concrete & asphalt. Highly recommended!

A nice break from the city, yet right in the middle of everything. On a beautiful day, take a walk, enjoy the views, then cross the bridge to St. Anthony Main for dining, etc.

Description
Nicollet Island, on the Mississippi River, has a tranquil small-town vibe, with well-kept Victorian houses and waterside paths that offer views of the skyline and St. Anthony Falls Dam. Nicollet Island Park includes an amphitheater and a pavilion used for concerts. The limestone Nicollet Island Inn, a former door factory, and the huge 1941 Grain Belt Beer sign, are local landmarks.
