Escape Room 831 Wave — Local services in Monterey

Came down to Monterey yesterday to enjoy this beautiful city and spontaneously decided to play and escape room:) Exodus was able to accommodate us just walking in, luckily there was a spot available, we played Sherlock game. The decor of the lobby, escape room and the facility itself was on point. That is the first thing that you notice when you walk in. Our host Heidi (I hope this spelling is correct) was amazing, didn’t give us any unnecessary clues and gave us a chance to complete all puzzles without interfering. Answered to our questions at the end and was very friendly and professional. Game itself was on the easier side, but had some “wow” and “a-ha” moments:) Had a unique puzzle towards the end, that I’ve never seen before. Definitely recommend to beginners or...

Love this place. I've done 3 of their escape rooms so far (Alice in Wonderland, Bank Heist, and Masquerade), and we have another one booked for tomorrow. They are helpful enough to get you out of the room in time, or they are willing to leave you alone if that's what you prefer. I personally would rather finish an escape room with a little help than refuse clues and not finish the room in time. But I have a friend who would prefer no to little help, even if we don't finish.

These rooms are organized and functional. I have done escape rooms at other places that don't make as much sense or require extremely abstract thinking or are impossible for 2 people to finish. I prefer Exodus' well-decorated, well-designed, and more...

Great experience with staff, however technical difficulties with room made experience disappointing. I was the parent sitting outside and could hear both kids and staff. Staff were panicking because a door wouldn’t open that was supposed to, though the kids had punched in the correct code. They said this was the SECOND TIME this has happened, and it should have been fixed after the first, she didn’t know what to do! So she called the kids and said she would walk in and open the door. Kind of ruined the mystery for them, but they are 13 and didn’t seem too disappointed. I heard the staff counsel other groups and they seemed really knowledgeable and friendly, top notch all around.
