BE VERY AFRAID!!! The man named Louis gave my room and keyed my lock to a couple who tried their best to get into my room at 2:15AM 10/27/17. Thankfully I had the safety latch on and that prevented them from opening the door all the way. I slammed it on them and told them the room was occupied. When I called the desk to let the employee know that someone had just tried to enter my room, he replied "oh, they were probably just trying the wrong room." His name is Louis and he is an idiot. I had a run in with him the day before about charges and he has low character, no work ethic., and zero customer service skills. So, when I said that no, someone had my room door open, then he showed a little concern over the issue and said he would call me back. He did, but tried every possible explanation he could to put off the blame instead of holding himself accountable for what he had done. He first said he gave someone else the room because he thought he was still waiting for me to check in (yep, 2:15AM and actually said that). When I told him that I had been staying in that room since Monday, he then said, I thought you checked out and were checking back in since you extended a day. I told him no, I had the front desk re-key my card for day at 7:30 AM, and even stopped at the desk at 4:30 PM to get a second card - furthermore, this was my 2nd night extending and so should not have any reason to think I was not in the room I paid for the night before when he was there. After he realized all of his B.S. wasn't working he became frustrated, raised his voice, and said basically that there had been a mistake by other staff members in my paperwork. I let him hang up at that point because he knew he had made a fool of himself. Of course I recorded the entire conversation and sent it to corporate, and will be uploading it to YouTube shortly. I checked and if I filed a lawsuit would not likely win because nothing was stolen and there were no damages. However, what if the man trying to get my door open managed to get in while I was still sleeping? What if I had not been in the room to stop him and all of my belongings had been stolen? The fact that this employee showed no concern, no remorse, no accountability shows me that if I had suffered damage he certainly would not have cared that it was his fault for checking a man into my room and keying a stranger access to my room. So, my attorney warned me to just never stay there again and I am passing on this warning to others. Beware of Louis. He should be fired. Hopefully, his fellow employees will learn how he tried to blame his mistake on them once the recorded...
Read moreI do not recommend this place at all and will never stay here again. This may be common practice but I’ve never experienced it before… we were on the interstate about 30 minutes from Murfreesboro. We get a text notification from the card company that the card transaction for the rooms was denied. We immediately call this Microtel and inquire about said text. Mind you, these rooms were booked 3 weeks ago. We explain what has happened to the receptionist on the phone and she proceeds to completely interrupt our explanation, saying she has a customer, and “puts us on hold” while she helps the customer in person. I put that in quotations because we weren’t on hold, we could hear her talking with the other customer. As someone who has worked in customer service her whole career, that is unacceptable. Anyway, she finally picks the phone back up and tells us the rooms (which again we reserved 3 weeks ago) had been cancelled. We did not receive any call or text from the hotel - the one text we received was from the credit card company. They didn’t even bother to call and inquire about the failed card transaction explanation before cancelling our reservations! This was such a big deal because it was the weekend of the Taylor Swift concert in Nashville and all the hotels were booked up. She tells us they have 2 remaining rooms that she can book for us upon arrival. At this point we’re literally waiting at the red light off the Murfreesboro exit - AKA less than 2 min away. Upon arrival she tells us she actually only has 1 room. We have no choice so we book the room. It was way overpriced for what we got. The hotel itself looks incredibly crusty, outdated, and NOT well cared for. The hallways were carpet and they looked like they hadn’t been vacuumed in ages, the lights were dim, I definitely would not stay there by myself. As we walked into the room, we immediately noticed dirty floors, faint smell of cigarette, dirt and hair under the toilet seat, etc. Please see photos. The towels were stained and were sandpaper. The sheets and comforter were stained and the comforter had cigarette burns in it. The shower head leaked. There was something gross under the AC unit… the list goes on and on. OH! Don’t let me forget - the “breakfast” in this place is a joke. The milk for cereal was SPOILED. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place at all costs. If we weren’t with our elderly grandparents, we probably would have...
Read moreBooked a room through our corporate portal for work, based on the discount and rate, I wasn’t expecting anything fancy. However what we walked into was easily the most unsanitary hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Every time we looked closer, it just got worse and we ended up walking out and booking a room across the street. (And we’re refused a refund of the room)
The floor in the room was sticky. Every time you walked you could hear your shoes sticking to the floor. Didn’t even want to take my shoes off.
Hair and dust all around the toilet. Base of the toilet was covered with hair. Clumps of hair and dirt behind the bathroom door. The bottom of the shower curtain was stained an orange ish color and had multiple spots of mold.
The towels all had what appeared to either be facial hair or pubic hair on them. We opened one towel over the toilet and saw so much hair fall out of the towel into the bowl.
The room also had a funky smell we could not figure where it was coming from or what it was.
I’m often willing to tolerate some small things. I’m not one to pay $75 for a room and expect some 5 star experience but just could not stay in that room.
When we first checked in, we just dropped our bags off and left to go to our event. Came back later that night and weren’t in the room more than 15 minutes. Front desk clerk said managements rule is you can only get a refund within the first 10 minutes of checking in.
Will be disputing the charge with my credit card company and contacting our corporate portal / perkspot partner about removing this hotel from their network.
Believe the reviews. I read them and thought people were over exaggerating. They are not. This hotel is...
