Amazing, peaceful and family friendly beach. Shaded area here is desirable for families with kids. Less shade with broken trees after hurricane, but still more shade at the beginning beach entrance than elsewhere on the beach.
Check UV index when going to beach. UV rays are high from 11am to 3pm. Wear coral reef safe sunscreen please care about the animals and environment. I don’t sun tan, but got a tan even when cloudy from 4pm while wearing protective clothing.
Nice parking meter guy told me free parking by the lights, it’s just a small walk to the beach. Get your jogger (for kids) ready! Brought all my gear and food for the day! This is the parking on 5th ave. This beach has a shower and parking at front of beach. However, there are no bathrooms and lifeguards.
Lots of shells, though we haven’t found big cool shells. Maybe on other beaches.
Saw dolphins Friday, fishes jumping, silver fish by our feet, different types of birds, fossilized shells and rocks. Very fun with kids!
Beautiful sunset, and calm waters as evening arrives leaving ripples in the water near the shore.
