This Italian eatery is a gem that delivers far more than its casual setting might suggest. We came in with a simple craving for Italian comfort food and left with an experience that balanced authenticity, creativity, and warmth, all in one delightful meal.

Our family opted for two dishes: a classic cheese pizza and a unique pasta quartet featuring rigatoni, spaghetti, and torchio — a playful twist on a traditional sampler. The pizza arrived with a perfectly blistered crust, thin yet sturdy, allowing the vibrant San Marzano-style tomato sauce and generous layer of cheese to shine. The flavor was balanced and nostalgic, yet refined. It offered a nod to true Neapolitan roots with just enough golden char on the edges to satisfy even the most particular purist.

The pasta dish, however, was the true standout. It was an imaginative offering that merged three distinct shapes into one cohesive plate, each cooked to a precise al dente. The rigatoni held bold sauces with authority, the spaghetti brought familiarity and comfort, and the torchio, a rarer find, added a delightful texture and visual flair. The sauces were deeply flavorful, showcasing a harmony of slow-cooked tomato base, aromatic herbs, and just the right touch of garlic and cheese. This dish felt like a culinary journey through Italy’s diverse pasta regions, thoughtfully composed and satisfying from first bite to last.

What elevated the entire experience, though, was the service. The staff were genuinely warm and attentive, effortlessly blending professionalism with friendliness. It’s the kind of place where you feel like part of the family from the moment you walk in, a quality all too rare these days.

In short, this isn’t just a place to satisfy a craving. It’s a place that reminds you why Italian cuisine, when done right, is so enduring. If you're in search of soulful food, kind service, and a dining experience that feels both familiar and special, this little gem is well...

I would like to thank you so much for allowing us to dine in your restaurant. From the time I made the phone call, Francesca answered. She told us all about your restaurant and how we needed to definitely come in and dine with them. The interesting thing was you didn't have any room or any seating arrangement at 7:30 in the middle of dinner service. But Francesca was able to sneak us in. She knew who I was and so glad to see me and my 3 Guests.

We enjoyed a few of the appetizers along with the Caesar salad that had the fermented black garlic and the anchovies. We also had a pizza it was pretty good The dough was excellent and the flavor of the sauce was not over the top. You're toppings fennel sausage amazing..

The interesting part of the whole evening was Alex. Alex you need to keep him around definitely You need to make him definitely the front of the house manager of not only the bar but also of the restaurant. Because his style and his customer service and the way he pacifies the customers is amazing. He told us all about Naples and some of the outlying areas. We also had the bucatini caco de pepe.... And the way Alex explain the food and also the drinks he really knew his stuff. I have never met Alex before. So don't think I'm just trying to butter you up. My guest said he was awesome...

So I want to thank you so much for the opportunity to dine at your finest...

FAN-TAS-TIC!! Came here after an upsettingly bad time across the street, and Matt saved our evening. What a great experience. I'll explain.

An inspired gastropub, Bar Tulia deserves the praise. Excellent, personable service. Very well done, inventive house-designed cocktails. We had the cheese curds - perfect. We had the mousse and the profiterole desserts -- absolutely incredible -- the former being unexpectedly thick, rich and creamy, and the latter being sweet and light with a delightful PB&J flavoring.

We had several drinks. Basil Advice - crisp, light and delicious; the Basilicao - similar to an old fashioned, warming and lightly spiced; a drink with a dragon-fruit slice in it that blew my socks off; and a tequila drink that tasted nothing like tequila that my partner LOVED. All of them very well dressed and recommended and presented by a knowledgeable team.

This place was an A+. The staff were extremely well versed, and INTERESTED in food and drinks. We were inspired, and so we came back to their neighboring restaurant, Osteria Tulia, the next night and were...

Bar tulia was my final destination for my first night in Naples. It is the one our local guide was most excited about, but on this specific visit was the biggest letdown. It seemed from the moment we sat down, the primary bartender (Paul, if I recall correctly) seemed to take issue, though who could say what it was. He got visibly frustrated when my partner asked a question about a menu item, offering no insight other than saying "they're both good" in a dismissive way. The pizza is pretty good and seems to be woodfired in a small oven, providing a good char to the crust. The wings, though perfectly cooked with a nice crispy breading were on the bland side. Very little spice to them or flavor at all. The biggest issue was being ignored while trying to settle our tab for at least 15 minutes. Paul seemed more preoccupied to flirt with a woman than allow us to pay. I'm from out of town, so a repeat visit is unlikely, but I do know for a fact your bartender cost you the regular visit of a local.
