I have never left a review before in my life!!!
I am simply amazed and Appalled.
This was my second time at Gelato & Co. Both the visits Left much to be accomplished. Apparently the proprietor is comfortable with having “children” running the store. I was asked probably six times how I would like my coffee prepared, no worries. I ordered a turkey Panini and was astonished when they handed it to me. I sat on 5th Ave., South bistro style looked at my sandwich and could not find any turkey on it. I went inside and asked one of the children sales people if I could have some turkey for my sandwich. The young lady looked at me as if I was from Mars. She spoke to the other child working with her, they both turned around and looked at me trying to make me feel uncomfortable of which is next to impossible. When the youngster returned she had a slice of turkey so thin you could see through it I said nothing other than thank you went outside took a photo of it put it on my Panini and ate Panini lettuce and mayonnaise. The past occasion and first trip to the store my wife purchased four individually wrapped cookies all four were completely stale and must have been on the shelf for at least two weeks. Due to the fact of paying my rent on 5th Ave., South does not provide the right to insult customers with portions and war costs. I certainly will be the first to inform any one that reads this review I nor anyone in my family will ever return to that...
Read moreI Stumbled upon Gelato & Co after strolling down “The East Coast Rodeo Drive”, 5th Avenue South Naples. Before entering, I was immediately in love with the aesthetic…minimal and modern with an Italian cafe flair.
Both Alfonso and Yuliana, the owners of Gelato & Co, have extensive culinary training with a focus in desserts. One look at the dessert cases as well as the dessert that Yuliana was making are works of art that are ALMOST too beautiful to eat. Alfonso and Yuliana started their journey with gelato at a Gelato & Co cafe in Panama City. They said that they fell in love with not only the dessert but also the quality of the company. Alfonso and Yuliana decided to venture to Naples, Florida to open the company’s newest location! They have only been for here for less than a five months but they’ve fallen in love with the town and already fit right in on the iconic Fifth Avenue in Downtown Naples!
Alfonso and Yuliana care for their ingredients as they source them locally whenever possible! Their goal is to bring the farm to table concept to gelato!
While Gelato & Co maintains the classics and crowd favorites year round, they do release seasonal and holiday specific flavors. Alfonso and Yuliana love recommendations from...
Read moreAs a first time customer, I was super excited for this place, but very disappointed in the end. I asked one of the employees if they sold macaroons and they responded yes, and that they were in a fridge behind me. I went to grab a box and the male who was working started yelling at my party and I that we could not take a box from the fridge (even though I was told to). I apologized and said that it was my first time. He responded "well now you know for the next time." Well there won't be a next time. I went back to double check the fridge and in very tiny writing next to the macaroons it says "please ask for assistance." Not only did I ask, but the company should be more accommodating to those who are visually impaired like myself...as I forgot my glasses that day and could not read the tiny sign. Gelato also really isn't worth the hype. It was given to my party and I over filled and we had to throw most of it away. Macaroons weren't even labeled to which flavor they were. It's a shame because I was so excited for this place, but having unethical standards (such as limited accommodations) and rude employees that still get upset at an honest mistake due to me being visually impaired lost me as a customer...
