EDIT: table arrived for the 3rd time with damage. We’ve had to rearrange work schedules to be available for delivery multiple dates. We were told by the customer service rep that the table would be checked over at the warehouse before delivery….we paid full price and delivery fees for the table. Nothing has been done to offset the cost of this experience.
I am so disappointed with my experiences at Bernie’s Nashua this year. We have been looking at sofas and a dining set for over a year at various places and finally settled on items at this location. The sectional was chosen because the sales rep Chris ensured us that the item would be delivered mid March. We were there in January. We originally wanted a nicer set but couldn’t wait the 9-12mo for living room furniture. We settled on the sectional because of the MULTIPLE reassurances from Chris of the delivery timeframes. Fast forward to March and we called to get a delivery date. We were told that the sectional was never in stock and we wouldn’t get it till June at the earliest. When I explained the promises made by Chris the customer service manager told me I was mistaken by the info provided and no such delivery date would have been provided. Needless to say I was beyond frustrated at that point. So it’s now June and I stopped in at the store to check on delivery. While there I found a kitchen table set I liked. Sales rep Joe assisted me and was able to confirm items were actually in stock and could get them added to the sofa delivery which was scheduled the following week. The furniture came this week and the delivery team was super professional and got everything set up in a half hour. While they were there we saw that the base of the kitchen table was damaged. They quickly notified customer service with pictures. A replacement was scheduled for 3 days later. Guess what…that table showed up damaged too! Unbelievable. Again the delivery team notified customer service with the issues. My husband spoke to the rep and explained the issues. We were told that the next table shipment would be several weeks out. We asked what they could do in regards to the multiple delivery issues and delays and were told they wouldn’t discuss any warranty or compensation questions until the replacement table was delivered and we were satisfied with it. So now we’re stuck with a damaged table. No offer to refund the delivery charge or provide their extended coverage of the table. Read moreI have had a horrible experience at this store and will not be purchasing from Bernie and Phyl's again. I absolutely do not recommend this store. We ordered a kitchen table and couch within a few weeks of one another. The kitchen table came in first and was broken. We called and they said they would deliver a new one free of charge and it was delivered within a month. We also had the most frustrating and terrible experience with the couch purchased. We ordered the couch and an ottoman on 9/4 and they said we would be getting it delivered by the week after Thanksgiving, the latest. We received a call around Thanksgiving saying they made two mistakes - they forgot to put in the purchase order and when they did they realized the ottoman we ordered did not come in the color we wanted. They said we could get a different ottoman, which was actually much larger than the original one ordered, in our couch color and they were ordering this for us. In the meantime, we had sold our couch thinking we'd have a new one by this time. We got them to provide us with a loaner couch for free, they noted they would give us a specified discount and free shipping, as well as expedite the couch order. -They delivered the loaner and then our couch was finally delivered on 12/15. They charged us for the loaner even though they said they were not going to and then after a call reversed this amount. They also said the ottoman was going to be another month. Now that we finally got the couch, we realized, we may not actually have enough room for this ottoman, that we did not even get to see or measure, given they just ordered it for us and it was a different size than the originally ordered one. I called and got measurements and then notified them that the ottoman was too big. They refunded us for this amount. After all of these issues, we realized the couch that was delivered late had a tear/slice from delivery on its side. We notified them right away and they sent someone to look at the damage and will have to replace this section of the couch. This is going to take another month or so on top of everything. We financed this couch and received our bill and the amount did not appear to factor in the returned ottoman or the discount they promised, so we called to get an itemized receipt and they said they didn’t have this on hand. Read moreI have been in search of a new mattress for about a month. I had gone to three different furniture stores prior and always left thinking to myself, this shouldn’t be this hard. This morning I woke up with terrible hip pain for the last time and started looking for a mattress pad online, but nothing seemed to make as much sense as a new mattress. Against my wishes, I decided to try one more time and went to Bernie & Phyl’s after work. I walked in and laid on several mattresses and even watched a video while lying down in one of them. About three minutes went by and this nice man peeked over and said, let me know if you need anything at all and don’t be afraid to put your feet all the way up, that’s what the protection on the bottom is for. Not one person chased me down as soon as I walked in as if I was their only hope to make their sales quota for the day. I looked around and he said do you have questions? I said I sure do. He answered every single one of them, showed me the price points, told me which bed is great for the hip pain I was experiencing, warranty information, best sellers, you name it, he told me. I was so relieved. He literally did not care if I spent 10k or 1k, he genuinely wanted the best mattress for me. I want to give a huge shout out to Michael MacLeod! He truly deserves recognition for his time, patience, and genuine kind demeanor. My mattress could have been delivered next day but with my schedule it will be delivered three days later! That’s impressive! I literally can’t wait. Once I was done at the mattress section I needed a bed frame and dresser. Michael paged Phil Cure who was ready to help right away. He showed me exactly what I was looking for and I purchased the bed frame, dresser and night stand! I was in and out with exactly what I wanted and needed for 1/2 the price of the other three competitors and felt a sense of accomplishment.
