Don't know if the car insurance industry is as bad as some of the associates at First Acceptance Insurance, but my wife and I are now convinced that you have to hire an attorney if somebody else carries this insurance for their vehicle and they are at fault and damage your car. I think I would have saved myself a lot of stress had we hired a lawyer. Although the party who hit our vehicle was cordial and forthcoming with information of her insurance carrier (First Acceptance Insurance), the adjuster assigned to our case at this insurance company virtually never returned our calls, and it almost seemed like he was either purposely avoiding us or was just simply lazy and incompetent. My suggestion to anybody who reads this thread is, in the event your vehicle is damaged by somebody who claims First Acceptance Insurance as their insurance carrier, make sure you file a police report regardless of location, even if in a parking lot, and contact an attorney. Since I was unable to make contact with the adjuster assigned to our case, even though we left several messages and he never returned our calls but once, I had to contact their corporate office and requested to speak with the adjuster’s supervisor, who initially was cooperative and helpful, and who all but guaranteed a stress free process with our vehicle repair and replacement vehicle with Hertz car rental, but our experience was just the opposite. The folks at this company were, and still are, unbelievable with the nitpicking of the cost needed to repair our vehicle, including covering the cost of a rental vehicle. Spoke to a Hertz associate and told him we should have confirmation on a rental car replacement while our car is in the body shop being repaired. He indicated that upon pickup of a rental car, we needed to carry insurance or purchase insurance through them, in the event of an accident (with the rental car). I contacted my insurance company who explained to me that since the party who carries First Acceptance Insurance is fully at fault, First Acceptance Insurance must cover the cost of the damage waiver and/or collision insurance coverage for the rental vehicle while we have it. I have had to pull teeth with this company to demonstrate a shred of responsibility, and as I said earlier in this review, this insurance company has given us every reason from here on out to hire an attorney, even for the repairable damage done to our car… CONSUMER BEWARE…. Do not take First Acceptance Insurance for granted. To reiterate, get a police report and hire an attorney to save yourself time and...
Read moreI have worked with this agency after an accident. At first the claims adjuster was nice and would follow up with me after calling or emailed her but once I mentioned a negative behavior in regarding the auto liability specialist she started being somewhat rude and haven't followed up with me as she usually did. The Auto Liability Specialist Brandon Blake set me up with a hertz rental that was out of the way when he could have set me up with enterprise that was closer to me and he even admitted it after the fact when arguing with me because I was the one mentioned enterprise and not him. He would talk to me in condescending tones when explaining things and had an attitude, and I was needing an extra day on my car rental and he was going on about how some people would take advantage and they don't extend past a set up date, and I no longer wanted to talk with him, due to his negative attitude but to the manager which the manager was nice and helped me with the rest of the rental, which I return the next day. Brandon Blake had a problem and attitude from the beginning when first started working with him, he was condescending when explaining certain things which may not have needed an explanation and I wouldn't recommend him as a helpful agent. The officer who handled the police report was judgemental and tried to pass of the damage to my car as as nothing, people shouldn't get away with damage to someone else's property or damage period. These people handle claims differently and there attitude and consideration of someone else's property damage and medical claim could be better. I wouldn't recommend, I have dealt with other insurance companies who handled my claim better, and I'll be glad not to deal with them any longer. Consideration of one's property damage and medical claim is lacking, and they can due better in communicating...
Read moreI filed a claim on September 4th after one of their insured drivers refused to provide his insurance information. It took me going through my own insurance company (who denied his claim) to even get the details I needed to file. From the very beginning, communication has been almost nonexistent. I was told someone would follow up within 24–48 hours, but no one ever contacted me. Despite leaving multiple voicemails for my adjuster, James Reif, and his manager, Lisa Whaley, I never received a call back. One of the most frustrating issues was that my name was spelled incorrectly on my claim. I left my very first voicemail specifically pointing this out, but no one ever corrected it. As a result, my check was issued to the wrong name, and my personal information was even sent to the wrong email address—despite me notifying them of the error early on. Throughout this process, I called many times trying to understand the claims process, whether I could get rental car support, and what steps I needed to take for repairs. None of my questions were answered. I only finally heard from Ms. Whaley, who informed me of a payout, but I never once had the chance to speak directly with my adjuster about the details of my claim. At this point, I am still reviewing the estimate and working on getting my car into a shop for repairs, but I continue to need support for a rental car. My biggest concern is that, given the lack of responsiveness so far, I won’t be able to get help if additional issues arise during my repairs or with the rental. Unfortunately, this entire process has made what was already a stressful situation—being in a car accident—absolutely miserable. I am still hoping First Acceptance will provide the support I need to move forward, but my experience over the past two weeks has been...
