I don't take the time to submit descriptions of negative experiences but unfortunately after my massage tonight, I feel like a review would be informative. I have gotten massages at this location previously and every massage has been glorious, which is why I kept returning. Tonight was sadly the last time for me.
I came in, pointed to Combo B that I wanted ($75, 30 min foot, 30 min chair). I was seated, hearing that I wanted Combo A from the receptionist to my massage lady. She gets started, soaks my feet, and about 10 minutes in she moves me to a back room on a table, noting that it's warmer back there. Well there was a gentleman beside me getting a chair massage yet they didn't move him, but whatever. I get situated on the table and told her I wanted Combo B but Combo A is just $5 more; I made sure to say I wanted 30 min foot, 30 min chair/table.
A few minutes into my foot massage she asks if I wanted to extend it to 45 minutes; I said no. Later when she's working on me on the table she makes comments like I'm very tight, "trust me", "30 minutes is not long enough", insinuating 90 min would be much better. I see where this is going but I'm clearly in a vulnerable spot to voice that I just wanted 30 min foot, 30 min chair/table. She doesn't speak English very well though she's quite friendly and accommodating to me. At some point I guess I give her the green light to do 90 minutes because voicing the original service I wanted doesn't seem to be acknowledged at this point. The massage was incredible, not going to lie! Get out to pay afterward, total is $120 - not the $75 I originally wanted to pay for. I add a $15 tip and as the receipt is printing she looks at me and says "It's supposed to be a 20% tip"...so I reach into my wallet, pull out $10 cash, give it to her, and peace out.
To be fair, there could be a sign somewhere that says tip 20% and I didn't see it. The overall experience was uncomfortable, I wasn't sure why I was being moved around, and the heckling pressured me from paying for a $75 service to $145 service after tip. I have LOVED my massages there but experience has taught me that my original request will not be respected; that creates an uncomfortable environment and lack of trust.
I'll be trying out a place called Bucca Reflexology, a spot my dentist of all people...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI feel very mixed about this place. If I could, I would probably rank it 3.5 stars.
First off, I want to note that I heavily temper my expectations when going to a reflexology place to account for lack of privacy and some background noise. However, two of the massage therapists were chatting the entire time. The massage therapist who was working on me was simultaneously managing clients who were walking in and repeatedly walked away from the table to help other customers or answer phone calls.
When I came in, I asked for a 30 minute foot massage and was quickly hit with an upsell to a 30 min foot +30 min back. I expected that might happen and the massage was feeling really nice so I went along. However, the actual time of the massage was somewhere between 45 and 50 minutes, and this is including the few minutes she spent doing other things during the massage. I can't say if this was negligence or trying to rush me off the table because they seemed to be saying yes to more walk ins than they could reasonably handle.
As I was paying, I pointed to the sign that said 45 minutes and said ok, this was a 45. She told me no, it was a 60. I checked the clock and said I hadn't even walked in here 60 minutes ago. To her credit, she knocked $10 off the price. She also shushed me during this interaction š I assume she didn't want the other customers to hear.
I'm giving it 4 stars over 3 because the actual massage was REALLY good despite it all. If you don't mind a bit of chaos and you feel you can be firm about upsells and pricing, I say go ahead and go here. If you're looking for a more quiet, private, experience where you're more catered to, maybe try...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHorrible experience, and Iām easy to please.
I asked for a 1 hour full body massage with Linda. When I got into the room she started pushing for 90 minutes. I could not understand a thing she was saying. I said no, then she asked if I wanted a second girl to massage one half of my body while she does the other. I asked her for the total price of the massage and she said 60 dollars, I said ā60 total?ā And she said āyesā but also kept saying āhalf, half!ā So I thought she meant it would be a 30 min massage but with 2 people for $60, because 60 seemed too low. Regardless I specified a third time ā$60 for the entire thing?ā And she said yes. I figured maybe they wanted to chat while massaging me or they were looking for extra tip. Go figure.
So Linda and a revolving door of women came in to massage me for what turned out to be one hour. The entire time they kept asking if I wanted more time, and I was worried I was going to be ripped off. I knew it wasnāt going to cost $60. I was uncomfortable the entire time. Nothing was relaxing about this experience. After the hour was finished I went to pay and sure enough the lady at the front asked for a HUNDRED and SIXTY.
Just not acceptable. Thereās no way to even reason with them because they donāt speak English. I paid $160 and left a $30 tip because Iām sure most of the money goes to the house. But $190 for a, mind you, MEDIOCRE, massage is ridiculous in Tennessee. Iām from New York and a quality massage is about $70 plus tip. Will not be returning. DO NOT RECOMMEND, there are so many...
